Well, yes, two days may seem long, but remember I am used to E*Trade delays;--) Anyway, transactions on this system take place withn 30 secs or so (at market value), so I am not worried. I'd go to a full-service broker if I needed the additional features (which I don't use), or stock suggestions (which I don't trust). Then again, my IRA is with a full-service broker...
E*Trade has grown way beyond its ability to properly care for its customers. I will use E*Trade to the end of the year (because of my investment plan with them), and then move all of my accounts to a competitor. That competitor has even answered my email in two days, somenthing you will *never* get from E*Trade. My suggestion: get your IPO stocks on E*Trade and then transfer your account to another online broker; it's worth the cost.
Well, sorry to hear that some kits have arrived broken. I do believe the company will deal with it properly, but they sure are *s*l*o*w* in everything. Shipping is maybe the worst: 2 weeks just to ship an order that has not arrived yet (ground NJ to CA) after a week in transit. And forget the 1-800 from CA: always busy, not even a tape! Just keep it in mind when placing an order, and adjust your expectations accordingly.
OK, so Harvard cracked under pressure (if you can even call it that) and decided to stop hosting the site. Any other takers? It would be great to have the site back up.
well, has been two weeks and all I have got is one email a day from X10 about their offers. No devices or answering to my emails (phone number is constantly busy). Hope some of you got yours... In the future, X10 will have to do better than this to even get $5 from me.
Does anybody know about any IR-based LAN solution? I am looking to connect 4 or 5 stations to a single IR 'hub'. Radio-based is out of the question in this application.
The only info I have is about this product in Israel. http://www.irlan.co.il/products.html

Ok, I got it, and it works just great.
Of course, then I *had to* order the DVD Sender, motion sensor, a couple of sticka switches... I am hooked!
