What does amplifying mass have to do with this theoretical weapon system? I do not mean this in a sarcastic sense, as it is easy to over look some factor. I will list what I believe to be how concept is, please correct me if I'm wrong or if I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to express.
Microwaves are composed of photons same as lasers, except that their frequencies are different thus requiring different materials to create the medium which is "pumped" and the reflective cavity both of which are used during the process of creating the coherent beam whether it be of visible light, x-ray, microwaves, gamma radiation (gaser) or infrared. The amplification spoken of is the process of increasing the energy per second release of the medium by passing the coherent beam though it over and over again until the desired energy level is reached.
The same researchers that brought us the maser also brought us the laser.

A Farley cage (I spelled that wrong please excuse me) or a metal box as you propose will work as long as the frequency and strength (watts) of the microwave do not penetrate. i.e. 10,000 kilo watts at 2 inches will get ya' for sure:) . Factors are thickness of metal shield, size of opening in net if using a farley cage, what metal is used, size of holes for leads out of processor and the complexity of the chip (the more complex the easier to break). Hard to know as the specs are still hypothetical.
Up to date there hasn't been a successful test of an energy weapon interception of incoming missiles. Pretty much this is what Bush wants to push research on despite the fact that the US has signed treaties to prevent such research cause if someone believed that they can indeed survive a MAD scenario they may actually push the button.
This not quite an EMP weapon which usually destroys by causing induction and other similar effects. It's more of a maser (m(icrowave) a(mplification by) s(timulated) e(mission of) r(adiation)) which is tuned to silicon instead of water (microwave oven at home). The implied precision that is needed again indicate more in the nature of a uni-directional energy weapon (laser, pulse laser and ilk) rather than a pulse surge weapon system (HERF gun, e bomb, nuclear EMP warheads, dazzlers).
Even the coat pattern of the two cats is different!! Then what exactly are the similarities. I have heard stories of human twins leading very similar lives. Genese definitely do have a big effect on personality and behaviour. So the interesting question is : what are the similarities between two cats with the same DNA, but very different environments (and ages). Could shed some new and interesting light on the old nurture vs. nature arguements. Even for humans .
Ahhh. This question has an interesting answer (i hope you all agree). A clone means that the organisms in question are genetically identical. This means that both the original and the clone are "built" from the same blue print DNA. The differences we see are manufacturing variations because the DNA blue print lays out generally what's what. DNA will specific structures such as organs etc... but will not determine exactly where every cell will end up, only an in close approximate location. In other words like building a house a certain wall on a certain side of size x will need y amount of bricks type z; assume that the brinks can self order (they can stack themselves up in a given pattern), a type z brink number n could be anywhere in that wall. So that's why twins will usually have similar finger prints, they may be even be the same but is not guaranteed because to be able to do so the DNA must determine exactly every single cell will go.
The question of personality similarities I believe is not that simple as it is getting into a comparison of hardware (the brain) and software (what the brain learns). If the question is the potential of the brains, they should be very similar in what they can achieve assume again manufacturing variations are accounted for.
It's called plasmid exchange. Plasmid in the biologic sense is a self replicating circular DNA strand. It used by many single cell life forms to exchange information on protein, DND and other similar cellular artifacts. We (that us humans) have used this as an entry vectors in molecular biology. If a plasmid is documented, in other worlds we know every single molecule, we can attach DNA code into it so we can then introduce it to bacteria that up take it readily (not all plasmids are taken in by all bacteria and vice a versa). It allows us to increase the sample of DNA or protein etc... for research purposes.
