With Reliance Group promising a mobile and broadband internet into every home in India you might as well take this article, multiply all numbers in it by 100, change Roh Moo-hyun to Ram Mohan Roy and you'll have a new article for the future...
Maybe you need to get a bit real. Computers are part of RL.

This is so cool. So that fish don't die from pollutants we can create special breeds of fish that can survive the shit that we throw down into waterways. Then we fund research to create genes that could help us digest such fish. And pesticide companies can grow. Win Win.
I'm not sure which thread are you (anonymous coward) replying to. Presuming that you do so for the original thread:
I'm not from the US. And I did not receive expensive education. Also, Whether or not I know what I talk about is largely unrelated to one's conventional education.
I do not know how these companies have got SEI CMM5. This kind of disproportionate spread of this world class certification leaves me with doubt about the widespread acceptance of it and also about acquisition routes in places like India. Do I sound cynical? perhaps, but don't forget that we can buy anything in India, anything.
This is not to say I have doubts about Indian talent but the reputation of a society/country must be built beyond reasonable doubt. India Inc. is not there yet.
OK. I do not have enough patience to read through the entire article. but here are some thoughts. SPAM is a form of intrusion of privacy. It would be best to apply all laws and regulations to prevent/deter SPAM as you would to prevent intrusion of privacy.
*****I don't even want to list the names of Indians who might be behind some successful products developed by them away from India.*****
That these chaps could not do it sitting in India is telling isn't it?
*****We have been looted and cheated over centuries. Our resources have been plundered by invaders.*****
Come off it mate. You can cry foul however much you like but the fact is that we *allowed* ourselves to get invaded and plundered more by our own infighting than by the might of the invaders. And don't forget our own politicians, who only come from among ourselves, who continue to rob us in the broad daylight.
The West is where it is not simply by illegally looting others.
Given that we have a massive cultural heritage, which we are never shy of wearing on our sleeves, that we should find ourselves in such a deplorable condition 50 years after *freedom* points to our internal deficiencies more than what invaders did to us for centuries. Look at Germany, Japan and other nations like that and ask them how they felt at the end of 2nd world war and how have they managed to get where they are today.
As someone else has said, India has been in the tech-news of late. That's a welcome change from India making headlines on the back of deaths from train crashes or blindness inflicted by fake doctors.
However, none of this has stood test of time. For all the hoohah about India's IT prowess, there's not a single truely world renowned software that an Indian company can boast of. Nor is there serious participation at the level of standards that govern much of today's fast moving software industry. India is at best playing the catching up game fairly well; at worse it's entertaining the world with a great apeing show. The joke will be on India if they are not careful.
Absolutely. At any rate I fail to understant what all the hoo ha is about. This is about freedom. Abuse of freedom is an inevitable other side of the coin. All snailmail boxes in North America are full of spam mail. The bloody thing keeps postal workers and printers in business. It's enterpreneurship. Ignore it, destroy it if you can't stand it and get on with life outside spam.

Maybe breaking into private property that has not been secured properly is not intrusion of privacy either. That's sound logic.

This might spell boon for the lacklustre .NET initiative???
