Something to consider, this could even make Lucas twice as much money. Put both the original and the re-mastered 1997 version out on DVD, seperately, that way people will get a choice on which one they want to own. Some die hard fans would buy both just to have them, and the older fans (myself included) would buy the original version. Just a thought
A Few things that made it great was boot time, it took around 20 secs. ( I timed it once) on my K6-2 300. It had a console but it didn't need to be used for normal things. The Gui was great, no quibs about it. Crash recovery for instance the power died and it rebooted back to normal. But the problem with BeOs was it was a semi new OS so it did not have the support of Linux nor the money of Microsoft. Therefore it was doomed to failure.
Nor will anything be allowed on your computer that Microsoft doesn't want on it. I swear if I EVER see a hard drive or video card, ETC say "Designed for Microsoft Palladium." That's when I find old drives and go to Linux Full time... This is getting ridiculous, why not just have all of our home computers sitting in a nice big room with cameras watching our every move...
