    Although Mandelbrot has also been accused of knowingly taking credit for other people's ideas, notably R. N. Elliott.

    With that said though, this is an immensely important field for innumerable applications, so I'm glad it's being recognized.

    Yeah same here - when I got mine, the picture-instruction for how to shoot the missile had a sticker over it, and the red missile was glued in his backpack.

    Then to top it off, my dog chewed it apart a few weeks later... little bastard.

    The dimension D of an object made of N exact copies of itself, each shrunk by a factor of S is:

    log(N)
    ------
    log(1/S)

    So, a fractal is an object with a non-integer D.

    Think of it like this, a line is infinitely-thin, and has length in one dimension. A snowflake's edge is also a line, but so 'crinkled' that it tends to fill space in two dimensions. The dimension D of an object made of N exact copies of itself, each shrunk by a factor of S is: log(N) ------ log(1/s) So, a fractal is an object with a non-integer D I'm tired now, goodnight.

    Well, the cool thing about this is that they're applying unsolved AI problems to verify if the signee is a human. If someone comes up with a way for a computer to 'pass' the test, then a new AI problem has been solved. Kind of clever, in my opinion.

    Dude, come on, Forte and Eclipse are a pain to use. JBuilder is a pretty damn good IDE (although IDEA is way better). JBuilder also has a killer Swing GUI builder.
