Actually, satelite voice can be a pretty good deal compared to international roaming. I have a fairly robust AT&T international package, but I still get charges $2-$3 per minute in Africa. Irridium and Thuraya only charge $1. Speaking of Thuraya, they have had a GSM/Satelte handset for awhile now. The SG-2520 is even pocketable. (Of course it only works in the Eastern Hemisphere for now.) FWIW DLM
