I've been seeing and hearing George Carlin saying that dead people have better things to do than to hang around checking on the people "down there" every time that HBO special comes on. Doesn't that prove there is an afterlife? If you don't see him that doesn't prove he isn't there.
I recall a time when the CEO came down and gave an order to ship the next build before 6:00 this evening. The build finished about 4:30 and the install CD got done about an hour later (2X CD-R wasn't all that fast), we stuffed it into an envelope and walked up the street to the FedEx drop box. Never even ran the CD to see if it WOULD install.
If we were dumb enough to do what our CEO said, it's a pretty safe bet that someone else would make a similar bonehead move.
Durbin has consistently come down on the side of strong ethics rules. Of course he can safely do that knowing that the rest of the Senate will make sure it never happens.
I imagine it's kind of like what Molly Ivins said about Henry Kissinger. "He cannot travel to Britain, Brazil and many other countries because they cannot guarantee his immunity from legal proceedings."

Now THIS is a job for the Blackwater types.

I was just doing research when I downloaded all those kiddie porn pictures.

What an idea! Buy the latest version and then disable its new features! I'm surprised that Microsoft didn't come up with that one.

We have the best government that money can buy. Now if only the people without money would quite their bellyaching.
