...then it is vital to have more games released for Linux.
As a Computer Science student (who isn't a CS major these days?) I consider Windows my gaming OS and Linux my working OS. Many other individuals in my age demographic are certainly the same. If we can get significantly better game performance on Linux (i.e. games developed specifically to take advantage of Linux's features), then current windows gamers would switch to Linux. After all we spend ridiculous amounts of money on the newest, coolest hardware and go to other extremes all for our performance fix. Why not switch OS's for that fix as well?
However, getting publishers to release non-crippled Linux versions of their games is an entirely different subject.
...effort? I'm a student at a PSU campus and the other day the bursar sent an email out to all students warning of the dangers (ie. severe physical punishment, etc.) that come along with file sharing.
Now I'm wondering if the RIAA somehow prompted that email.
Maybe they will just illegalize the whole internet this time and force all ISP's to close down completely. That way no one will ever hear a different opinion than what the Australian government approves of. Right?
In my opinion terrorist organizations have already won their "war" on the USA (supposed land of the free). They wanted to destroy our freedom (the little that we actually have), our way of life (which could be criticized), and everything else that America was originally meant to stand for.
The terrorists are winning and we will only realize too late that our "democracy" went down the shit hole because the elitist power mongers in our country control our every breath and waking moment.
Benjamin Franklin said it best in 1759 with this possibly over used quote: "They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
The goal is to have my own High Speed Internet company. Some of the posters here seem to have misinterpreted my original question (possibly the fault of myself). However, those who posted reguarding wireless service providing options were very helpful. Starting up a wireless High Speed ISP definately sounds much more feasible than an entire cable company (which is definately way out of my league for the time being). I will most likely attempt to implement a similar system.
Thanks again,
