but the approach of VMware is not very forward thinking.
MS are workign with Xen, VMware just have sour grapes.
IF open source software is better/easier/cost effective, these organisations will choose open source.
(both are free, they have a free choice)
If not, then quit complaining on the forums, and go write some better code.

so that's any/every enterprise, in reality then. linux is fine, except in real world situations.

It's really that easy.. most sun people run solaris, and those who really want BSD can choose other hardware. Sun don't care, why should we.
