  1. timex tmx2 on Wristwatch USB Drive · · Score: 5, Informative

If you're going to be storing files on your watch, you might as well listen to music at the same time with one of these.

You can buy one for the low price of $129.99 USD at your local Radioshack.

Not only does it function as a watch, it also plays mp3 files (4 hours of play time on one AAA battery) and stores data (by way of usb mass storage device).

You get a choice of wearing it on the GripClip cradle, wriststrap, or lanyard. Much more convenient than just a watch.

It works without drivers in winXP (or newer, when we get newer) and MacOSX.
Best of all. Because it acts as a USB mass storage device it works under linux. Simply compile in the usb drivers, usb mass storage drivers, FAT files system drivers, and scsi generic drivers and your ready to go (after a simple mount =)

It even includes the AAA battery =)

  3. moving a mountain, or volcano on How Would You Move Mount Fuji? · · Score: 1

I though about this for a short period of time and here's what i'd come up with. First of, what's the reason for moving Mount Fuji? If it's posing a danger to a nearby population i'd simply move that population and any buildings, it would be alot cheaper than moving a mountain :)
If you cannot avoid moving the mountain it becomes a little more difficult but not impossible, at least not if you don't have to move it far. Picking the mountain up and placing it somewhere else is out of the question with our current level of tech. If you only have to move it a small distance thought it becomes more plausible. My idea for this would not involve moving the entire mountin itself but instead moving one side to the other side. First build a lowfriction railway system from one side of Fuji over top to the other side. That done continue the track around the bottom of the mountain and connect it back to itself. Position railcars evenly along this track and attach them all to each other. This way you can use the momentum of the heavy carts going down the mountain to help pull the heavy carts going up the other side. From this point simply fill up on one side and empty on the other side.

There are probably a number of problems in this plan but the basic idea can be seen :)

The plot summary reads as follows:
"Underworld" reimagines Vampires as a secretive clan of modern, aristocratic sophisticates whose mortal enemies are the Lycans (werewolves), a shrewd gang of street thugs who prowl the city's underbelly. The balance of power is upset when a beautiful young Vampire and a nascent Lycan - deadly rivals for centuries - fall in love. Len Wiseman directs Kate Beckinsdale and Scott Speedman in a fast-paced, modern-day tale of deadly action, ruthless intrigue and forbidden love, all set against the backdrop of an ancient feud between the two tribes in a timeless, Gothic metropolis.
  6. Space Station on The Space Elevator · · Score: 1

The end of this tower would make a great place for a space station. Due to the centripetal effects at the space-end of this elevator, there would be an artificial gravity created away from earth. This would mean humans could have a more permanent presence in space without the drawbacks of life in a zero-G environment. First we would of course need to overcome the higher radiation levels at this orbital distance. Of course with cheaper transport up this would be less of a problem since heavier shielding could be brought up.

All the time, and I do my physics and math homework after smoking a blunt or two. I find it not only improves my concentration, it also brings out that creative edge that puts me ahead (and I am the top student in all my current classes). As long as I drink a few mugs of coffee to keep the pasties (and the burn-out) away I'm good to go for hours. I think this 4:27 news should be added to the proof that weed does not kill braincells, lower IQ, or any other preposterous claims that weed is harmfull in anyway.
