I have submited my patent for puting words and pictures onto the screen via the web. I expect to hear back any time now. I was going to patent putting numbers and symbols on the web, but feared anti-trust lawsuits.
First, I'll admit I didnt read the article, but to me it seems that people always have it backwards.
It's not that "Nerds are unpopular" but more that "Unpopular people become nerds."
If you're not attractive enough for most people to want to socialize with you, you'll end up in a shell and build it up around you even more once it gets started.
Then, being bored all the time you're brain will run around looking for something to do. TV works for a while, but eventually bored people who dont socialize will probalby start to read something or do something that challenges their brain.
So, it's the nerdy looking kids who get too much free time on their hands and use it to GET SMART; the whole time finding the faults in society that made them the way they are.
Not as often as the smart people decide to become nerds.
Of course, this is not the LAW, but I belive is the More-Often-Than-Not.
You've also got pot-heads, lathargics, colombine-wackos who've been pushed too much and want to demonstrate that even though you pick on them, they can bite back 1000 times harder than you think.
Does anyone know what kind of bandwidth usage to expect when your site gets posted to/.?
This guy admits that he thought his p3 450 with a "fat pipe" would handle the load, but I belive/. generates more than 60,000 hits per hour, or 1 thousand hits per second when a "interesting" story gets posted.
Now, add in images or multimedia and you've really got some resource usage.
I saw a prototype of this about a year ago on the discovery channel, or maybe it was their website. None the less, this thing was huge, dwarfing an SUV and it had fluid movements - similar to the impressive way the honda robot moves - except that it looked like it could use a SUV as a soccer ball. This thing looked incredibly scarey when it turned and walked towards the camera. Terminator 3 comes to mind when remembering it. Oh! I found it. HERE IS THE LINK and check out the video too!!!
Go look at the reviews at rottentomatoes and see for your self...
If you look at the 'creme of the crop' reviewers, who are "famous" you'll see that 80% of them did like it. Only 50% of the other revieweres didnt like it, which for a star trek film is pretty good if you ask me. They've never been in bed with the critics.
Comming soon to a featured E-Bay! auction near you.
I've seen plans for these things in the back of my Pop Sci magazine for years...
You sure you dont mean evil do-ers .

They implat the web server into a living fly - with wireless.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm smart enough, I'm good enough, and gosh darn it, people like me.
Let one of the fonts be WingDings!

Will they ever learn? Viva la revolution! Er wait... I mean, death to the revolution!
And you've got a website that is resistant to the ./ effect.

I wonder what she would have to say about Internal Memos where all you do is post secrets about your company.
