  1. Re:Sony Copying Apple!!!!!! on Sony Recalls 18,000 VAIO Laptops · · Score: 1

Ha you know I forgot that aspect of it, your right Sony DID make those batteries. But then again Sony made my sisters XR-M550 Car Deck and it took her 6 month to get a repair done 3 months AFTER she bought the deck. So maybe its just Sony. (They had to get the part shipped from Japan, couldnt just give her a new deck) BTW I use a iBook so I wasnt bashing mac, just making light of the situation

  2. Sony Copying Apple!!!!!! on Sony Recalls 18,000 VAIO Laptops · · Score: 2, Funny

Hell yeah, I mean at least Apple had balls to try to CATCH YOU ON FIRE, with a fault on the battery of the powerbook. Its obvious Sony wants to copy Apple, but not entierly, so as to not get Apples Lawyers on them for copyright infringment or some other stupid thing like the ;-)

  3. It will get there, just wait on Restrictive Sales Practices on the Web? · · Score: 1

Well I dont know about the others, but Apple has seperate websites for selling to other countrys, like most manufacturers do (car companies, etc.) You might be going to the US site, which of course will not sell outside the country Likewise there are also export rules that must be followed by these companies, thanks in large part now from Sept 11, but that where even there BEFORE then. I cant help to remember the whole G4 Supercomputer ads from apple where that fact was, the computer (at the time since the classification changed later) was actually TOO POWERFUL to export out of the country. Heck even the Playstation 2 has a restriction on it cause the chip "COULD" be used as a missle guidence system. As for iTunes, they where going to be releasing it to europe but its the Music Companies Themselves who put the squash on it for now because of the weird sales laws all of the European Union has, since each country has a different sales law for the MP3's (or rather MP4's) and how much an artist gets. Honestly your still expecting too much for the global aspect of things, its only been 10 years since the web has started the be a more than geek object. It will getthere, but we have a ton of paper law that has to be changed, and you know goverment.

  4. Re:Out of left field... on Secrets Of Dungeons And Dreamers · · Score: 3, Insightful

You do though, people dont give them any credence anymore. Just look at how often Harry Potter is put on the Banned book list by christian groups for promoting magik, or the fact that future versions of Mortal Kombat after the first one used motion capture, used animation instead not cause it was cheaper, but cause a ton of people created a controversy over how morally wrong it was to beat the living crap out of what looked like a real human. Its the same for any religion really, anything that threatens the mythos and mystisism they create will be banned to prevent people from seeing other sides of things or thinking maybe said religion is not the only option

Did HG Wells let you frag the characters in the story???? I think not

  6. Just a random question on RIAA To Sue Hundreds Of File Swappers · · Score: 5, Interesting

Can all of us file a lawsuit claming that the RIAA continues to overcharge for the sale of CD's even after courts found them guilty, rapes its musicians of duly earned money, and for blatent infringement on our rights as a consumer pertaining to free personal use of music purchased? You know only cause its like calling the kettle black to say they are so high and mighty and we are all evil law breakers

  7. Why dont we just tell SCO how pissed off we are on SCO Terminates IBM's Unix License · · Score: 1

We all apparently feel the same way, that both SCO are damaging our favorite OS as well as blackmailing just about anyone using AIX out there. Why dont we make our voices heard and all email them. OK yeah sure the courts slapping them on their ass and saying "bad SCO," will be a much harder blow to them and satisfy us greatly, and the likelyhood is no one will care over there if we email them and tell them how dissapointed we are, but at least they are getting 1000 + emails telling them we find them irrelivent and a nusence.
