They're already paying in proportion to their use via a gasoline tax (assuming they have one like most other states.)

The gas tax in fact stimulates the buying of smaller cars, which also happens to have less wear and tear on the road.

This proposed tax will charge the same for small and large car alike.

It won't happen: like Clinton's BTU tax, it'll lead the Democrats to a big defeat. (If the Republicans are proposing this, sigh, butt-heads.)

I was going to post a comment about Julian Simon but IExplorer crashed when I clicked "Submit".

Normally that's not a problem as I have learned long ago to copy the entire comment (double-confirmed as I actually cut then paste it back in) I've just typed before clicking "Submit" because there are many problems that occur (one of them is that IExplorer doesn't remember what you entered when you hit the "Back" button when you get the "Slow down Cowboy!" screen.)

Anyhoo, IE is too damned stupid to copy its cut-and-paste text to the system clipboard until, presumably, one of its windows loses focus. IE crashes. Text lost. I want more MS quality in MY applications!

Actually, Clinton's plan to nationalize the health care system scared me a lot more.

Nothing like a "free" country where people claim nothing bad will happen, all the while pulling out the gun to force you to join their plan that you can't escape if it turns out to be bad.
