Sadly people forget what their fundamental liberties are a lot more readily than they forget the tragedies on television everyday. I wish they would see that every time a new piece of legislation comes through unchecked it brings us one step backwards in the pursuit of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I think mattsson has a point. When record companies pumped out crap deals to artists they got up and started there own labels on shoe string budgets. Granted I am not a game developer but it would seem to me that you could launch a small development house in the same manner. The real issue to be over come would be marketing and people who do not want to pay. (I know that my friends an I pay for the software that we use and enjoy, and not for the stuff we try and loath. However That isn't the norm I'm told.. you could advertise in blogs and try to work deals with some of the game specific sites. while not a complete solution It could be worth a shot to a developer who wants to work at it.

damn terrorists using technology in ways it wasn't intended, how dare they! what gives them the right to take apart the stuff they buy? why that would lead to anarchy and dissent among the consumers! I mean, what if our ancestors had taken things apart to figure out how they work, huh? then what manner of chaos would we be in... all joking aside, this makes me ill. And the worst part is that I almost expect this kind of behavior from the DOJ now. :(

I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one gladly purchase albums after downloading a few songs if I like what I hear. the main issue is not only control of distribution, but also fear of being forced to put out decent original material, I spent the better half of my childhood collecting tapes and vinyl of bands who only had one or two good songs, and singles we no good be cause all you ever had was a b side that wansn't on the album so you couldn't tell if the album was any good or not.
