    Nope. Tesla uses sight if first time over. Otherwise, it is using GPS.

    Depends on where she was at. If she is driving same road that plenty of Tesla's have done, then yeah. Btw, what did she get? Ours is 2013 MS.

    If they were to go to Tesla to get frame and drive train, along with help on building factory, Google would cause a major fear in auto industry. That would spead up conversion to EVs. Now, auto industry might take their time.

    First, this should be collected by the delivery company. It is the only way to make this happen. Secondly, a single nationwide tax is far far better than having companies figure out what tax levels. Third, to make it easy, charge 10%, give 1% to delivery, 1-2% for feds and rest goes to state sold in and they figure it out.

    and then rest of the year in service. In return, you get 2 years of junior college tuition paid for (or similar amount applied towards regular college tuition). This would be an easy way to get a number of kids back in shape and have them available for a real war.

Hopefully, when that happens, China will realize how bad this really is and stop building new coal plants and then shut down what they have. In addition, this might make the far left finally realize that China is a huge emitter and needs to stop NOW. Sadly, the far left is as anti-science as the far right.

    Thorium reactors have been around for ages. None are currently licensed, but, can be in under 5 years. Both Trans Atomic and Flibe can do this. And yes, I would not fully trust the gen 3 reactors. Every last reactor, except for pebble reactors, require active participation to stop all bad situations. OTOH, with the gen 4 reactors, laws of physics, like the pebble balls, work to prevent meltdowns.

    And fusion reactors have NOT been done profitably, while THorium, Molten Salts, etc HAVE been done both safely and profitably.

    Rei, the majority of us pro nukes are against old style reactors like this. They expensive, generate plenty of waste rather than using it up, and most of all, can fail. The gen 4 reactors that many of us back do not have these issues. In particular, costs should be a fraction of these old reactors ( competitive with wind and solar ), can use nuke waste instead, and are true failsafe.

    Normally, I have great appreciation for Merkel. She has a pretty level head and is forward thinking. But her closing all of the nuke plants prior to coal was pure foolishness. 1 or 2 of the old ones made sense, but not all. Germany has multiple designs with decent safety.

    On the founders series of X, they have some issues. Appears to be all solved. And the fact that both MB and Tesla spend close to the same amount on warranty says a lot.

    Yes, cars like the e-golf will be slow, so instead, you want to buy a decent EV like Tesla. Considering that it blows the doors off all cars in its class (such as MB's S Class, Audi A5, etc), I would not worry too much about it slowing down the autobahn

    They are currently increasing their coal. They continue to add wind, which would help at recharging during the night time, but not so much for daytime.

    Of course, Germany is building out new coal plants, regardless of the CO2 issues.
    But, given the choice of using more Russian nat gas or doing coal, I think I would prefer the later.
    Too bad Merkel screwed up with shutting down the nukes so quickly.

    They should cut the subsidies on the hybrids. At the least, cut em next year to zero.
    And then on the batteries, give them based on the battery size. The bigger the battery, the more subsidy they should have. The reason is that EVs charging at nighttime will help balance the electrical demand/grid.

  24. The fact is, that Apple put all their manufacturing over in China and now that is being used against them.
    And the Chinese gov is putting up more and more tariffs.
    It is for this reason that I hope that Tesla will NOT put their best prizes over there just to gain a few $ more in sales.

    Sad thing is, that at one time, American businesses and government was decent at security. Now, it is a joke.
