So wait... the text in that article explaining which stores are opening is supposed to be straight from the corporate mouth of Best Buy? There is no way that they would be saying "that'll" "won't" and inconsistently using phrases such as "unless prohibited by law or landlord situations" vs "unless prohibited by landlord situations". That is unless they have their janitor do their memos.
Not that I don't agree with the first part of your statement, but one of the reasons why Gaim is better than MSN Messenger strikes me as a flawed argument. Gaim does have more features, gaim does have an extensible architecture,... but Gaim does not NEED advertisements because it is connecting to a messaging service provided by Microsoft who, on the other hand, would like some ad revenue to support that service. Other than that, good point.
Reasons... who needs reasons? When you're Microsoft, you don't have to give reasons for anything. Especially in a time where you're coasting through a big vulnerability in your operating systems without really providing many answers. I figure by late-2004, a clean install of XP with SP1 should have about 50 additional critical updates for it (... there are 27 since SP1), and the entire installation process will take 2 hours (an hour to install XP w/ SP1 slipstreamed.. and an hour to install the 50 updates). What a shame.
It's without any of the fancy user-apps that Apple includes that make life a whole lot easier.
Huh? Ever heard of Microsoft Windows XP? What exactly will I be missing in a Windows XP box that I would get in Apple?
What will you be missing in XP that you get with a mac? iTunes, iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto... iLife, if you wanna call it that. Four included apps that allow you to do some pretty nifty things with audio, video, and photos. XP ships with Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player which would cover video and audio... but they're not designed to work well together, so they don't, and that still leaves out photo and good DVD creation software.
