MP3 is not going to vanish any time soon it is cross platform, there are many aplications writen for it.
I think that some time in to the near future we will see an update to this standart.
I think segway does reqire ability to stand up straigh. while it seems to be a simple task a lot of people, George W Bush is an example, can loose their balance while standing straigh. For senior falling from eleveated surface mens that s/he will spend next few month indoors.
Segway for seniors has to be modified with larger, and more stable, gyroscopes and be less prone to tip overs.
Consider that Microsoft can pull a plug on Office for X and you will clearly see that Apple will not try to move teir OS to the x86. Also I think that Microsoft will not invade PPC market just beacuse they can barely get it right with x86 what makes you think that they will go after 10% market share of PPC?
I think things will be exactly where they are for the next year or so.
If you consider this new media it will require completely new device that will be build from scratch allowing for the battery and permanent memory. Also you have to worry about reliable memory and batteries, not only disks. That will reduce safety of the data. Also such disks will not be used in RAID arrays. I see this technology making it to very small market of embedded devices and computers but not to every computer.
Once we can fit 60-80 GB of RAM inside of the HDD sized box than we can talk about new media, and death of HDD. This is a major step on the way but I don't' believe that we will ever implement this technology
Also thais car has a body that can be changed so if you deside to replace your car you can keep bottom part (engine and transmition etc.) and replace body. Than we will have a litle less waist maybe and maybe finaly more efficien engine will be desined and once body rusted out we will just replace it saving money and nature. Very exiting...
This Computer looks cool and all, but as soon as you make lots of openings for vents it will not be as pretty, so far there is no way to cool it now as far as I can see.

It's kind of cool when your computer lifts it's top and cd ejects. :-) So many things can go wrong but it looks cool.
