- On what issues do you agree with them and which do you disagree?
With which particular pirate?
- Do you think that they will be able to affect the policies or are they an ineffective tongue-in-cheek gesture?
Their policies are not clear and not consistent between their regional factions in the German federation. But in fact by their success at the ballots they actually effect strategies and topics of other parties.
This is just as the Green party started in the 70s. Possibly this was their most effective period. At this time the Greens were shaping public opinion sustainably, whereas when in government much later they went with "Realpolitik" and had customized themselves beyond recognition.
- What do you see will be the biggest challenge for them in the future?
So far - the next OS X update for their Macbooks?;-)
They are represented in the Saarland parliament now. That is the legislative, not the executive body. Theoretically they could be included into government by a coalition, but this is not going to happen for now.
The moral is, these guys make boatloads of money on each new hire, which is why they were not particularly bothered by giving me that money.
It is a fact that there are companies, who are willing to spend those boatloads of money to get staffed quickly and effectively, especially in times of start-up booms. Once there is the idea and the (venture) capital they are lacking labour force to get on with the business. It is an important factor for production and therefore worth the cash.
I think relocation costs are generally reimbursed by the client company themselves.
A distinction of recruiters running on retainers or commissions is nonsense and i do not understand that logic. A candidate should not bother about that but about his own market value.
