I am sitting at The Gathering at the moment, and I can say that there is not only gamers here. They made one section of the area a demoscene area (with a no gamers allowed banner).
It's a step in the right direction.
I recently registred a new e-mail adress, two days later I already had spam in my inbox. I noticed that I had been releasing my e-mail on a few web-pages, and came to think of something. The spammers "scan" webpages for e-mail addresses, and automaticly send commercial mail to them.
If you are sick of this - as I am - add your e-mail address with NOSPAM in the middle of it like name@NOSPAMhost.com, or write it like this; name at host dot com.
I have started doing that, and as I can see spam has acually increased a little bit.
Since the original webpage got slashdottet I set up a "mirror", it's on a 100mbps connection. (not much when we have a slashdot effect in the picture) http://skall.no/~termos/pacman/
It's nice to see an old and low-level language like Assemely surviving over the years. The first UNIX kernel contained around 16k of assembly code, but they later replaced most of it with C code which made it more portable and easier to debug but then again 20% slower. Assembly is still needed to write an operating system for very low level memory management and interrupt handling code, therefor I think this language will live longer than anything else, I find that quite interesting.
According to the article:
Yahoo will replace some of its graphic advertising, along the side of searches, with text ads that are very similar to those on Google.
First of all, Google does not have ADS as far as I know. Why couldn't yahoo start by not having anything as well, instead of replacing them?
As a bedroom, or you own secret cave?!
You need some non-free crap to view the trailer because of the monopoly! Oh the joys of proprietary software!
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

[...] I can't wait until we can attribute violence to the nightly news.
The war in Iraq is more than enough violence for me.

I didn't read the TOS, but I used it as toilet paper.

I have always wanted to know how a BSOD would look in a movie theatre.
Oh wait, I forgot to post as Anonymous Coward.
How do you power a weapon like this?
It must demand huge amounts of electricity, or am I wrong?
Given the topics discussed on /. lately, and given that this review covers some of our favorite federal laws
