  1. Re:that sucks on Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility Finalized · · Score: 1

I'm not sure that MS knew they were going to change the Intel architecture in the Xbox to the Power PC architecture in the Xbox 360. When a game is created for a console, the devs will usually completely optimize the game for the specific console hardware. After seeing the recomendations MS sends to devs who don't have the SDK to begin working on their games prior to getting the SDK, they give specialized instructions on how to optimize the games to work on the Xbox and Xbox 360. These instructions give me the idea that most devs really go deep into optimization, and taking that opitmization to a completely different platform would cause the games not to work at all. Really, what I thought that MS would do would be to create a fully working emulator to emulate the Xbox within the Xbox 360. That, however, can cause security issues for the Xbox 360 platform because people have already figured out how to hack the Xbox. If the emulator got hacked, then the underlying platform could be hacked as well. I'm not sure how the download will work, but I'm pretty sure that they're doing this to keep hacks out of the Xbox Live area.

Actually, the sensor can't tell whether there's an outer box, it can only tell what side the computer is sitting on. The XP box fits so that the computer is sitting on one side and the Linux box fits so that the computer is sitting on the other side.

The trick is to make sure that you think happy thoughts -- especially when it concerns the government. They know what you're thinking and they know where you live, work, and even pay your taxes. 8. I, for one, will curb my online shopping. on E-commerce Sites to Collect Sales Taxes Nationwide · · Score: 1

There are a couple of reasons for this. Let's examine the basic reason taxes for online sales had a moritorium put on it; taxation without representation. When you go to the store to buy something, you use the roads, you use the lights and signs that the local government provides to safely get you to the store and back home. This is the reason that the local government charges a sales tax, so that they can recoup the funds used for these (and other) necessities. When you're shopping online, you're using an Internet service you've already paid taxes on and sitting in a house or apartment that taxes are already being paid on. When you pay for shipment for an item bought online, you're indirectly paying taxes since UPS or FedEx pays taxes for the roads they drive on. When you're forced to pay a sales tax for an online good to a retailer that doesn't have a physical presence in your state, it's an extra, unfounded tax. This kind of thing was dealt with before, and it wasn't pretty. A large amount of tea was used, it started a war. If I do purchase goods online, the sites that aren't charging a tax will get my business, unless the site has a physical presence in my state, in which case I'll probably still go to the physical location and purchase the good.

I wonder if there's a patent on keyboards... I wonder if I should apply for one. Ok, so that's a bit extreme, but so are a lot of the patents I've heard of lately. I personally think that the patents allowed on technology are frivolous and hinder technological advance. $0.02 well spent.
