Cell phone virus writers will be furious! This will diminish the available host cell phones available to virus writers. This is a sad day for these folks:->
Let me tell you my slashdot experience - albeit limited.... You make an interesting comment to some post. If your comment is at all "right wing" or somehow "contradicts" the fad technology being pitched, then a bunch of morons will flame at you and their moderator buddies will mod you down. The morons flaming you will most likely only have read an article about the stuff, and never had any real experience in what they are talking about. Occasionally, you'll actually get a response that contradicts what you wrote and is accurate. Watch, this will be modded as "flamebait" - I've offended the "cultural sensitivies" of the "intelligentsia". Their position is "Good science and techology can only come from left-wing atheist, believers in evolution." I wonder what these same people would have thought of Seymore Cray and his "elves". (Try a google search for "Cray tunnel elves")
I don't know about the specifics of the A380, but I have heard that the F-22 Raptor and the B-2 CANNOT fly without the computers running. I also heard about a European (I think Swedish) fighter that cannot fly without its computer. I am not sure if the A380 can fly without its computers running. As for the different computers for planes - have you ever worked with clusters? (This is NOT a flame question - it is a real question - have you worked with clusters?) Gee, the left wing has lost quorum - time to sleep;-) The Airbus that went down in New York right after 9/11 had "rudder computer problems" and the pilot "moved the rudder to quickly"! So can you move the computer actuators too quickly for the system to react? This is "interesting"!
I don't know about anyone else, but as planes become more "fly-by-wire" - I become less willing to fly. I can hear it now - you are at 42,000 feet and the pilot comes on and says, "We need to reboot the rudder computer." or, "Ummm, the right wing controller just did a BSOD!". Thanks, I work with computers - I now how much they can "hang" I'll stick with the old fashioned wires and hydraulics - thanks. This A380 has a LOT of computer control - so does the 777 - I'll stick to older 737s thanks.
Thank you!!! That was precisely my point! Plus while the CS dude is studying on Saturday night, the humanities major is at a party with the chick he met in his classes
Why would somebody enroll in a major that is sending many jobs overseas? Compound this with the fact that CS/CE/EE majors spend a lot of time studying. So, why choose a major where you don't have fun in school AND you won't have a job. To think that women will somehow alleviate this problem is wrong.
I knew IBM had been working on "self-healing" servers - this must be part of that research - self healing plants;-) In the future, dual core processors will give birth to quad core processors. The ones that only give birth to three core processors will correct themselves when they breed and will have quad core offspring;-)
So, if this occurs in time AND space -what the heck does that say? (I "ain't" no physicist nuther, soes bear with me (sic)) Is the concept: Combinations of space and time can cause creative or destructive interference? A simple equation involving complex variables, rational analysis, and non-Euclidean geometries will suffice here - no seriously is that what they are saying about interference patterns?
Why is it cool when a rich guy PURCHASES technology and uses it? Had he invented flight, or lightweight materials or the combustion engine or something cool, then I can see it. Like his trip around the world in a balloon, what kid hadn't thought of that before - circling the world in a balloon. He just had the money to do it.
I agree "more" than you nuclear305 (no, this is not competition - I just would add to what you say). I went to school for EE - a COMPLETE waste of time (yes, I earned the BS degree). All of the stuff that I wanted to learn - I didn't. When I got done, did I really know enough about sequential logic design to design my own computer - hell they didn't even teach tri-state logic to us. (If someone knows a REALLY good way to learn seq. logic, I'm still ears). I thought I'd be able to design my own stereo after school, but once I got done - I realized it was cheaper to buy a stereo -and the quality would have been way better. I think part of the waste is that they "teach" kids that engineering is scientific - IT IS NOT!!! It is really "educated" art - science has very little to do with hardware, software, genetic engineering, etc.!!! That makes the "science" education bad. Then there is the fact that every dumb ass liberal arts dork thinks the engineers aren't "well rounded enough" so they pile on all the crap they can!!! That just means you have to take more classes, spend more time studying - and therefore are less well rounded;-)
Finally, I can't stand a rich asshole who didn't have to go to college (and quit Harvard after his freshman year) and who was born with a platinum spoon is his mouth telling people that THEY should go to college. For what - to make rich assholes like Bill G. more money?
I rant -sorry:-)
Imposter says MS can't beat Google (as he types at his Commodore 64, looks at his spiffy Edsel and drinks his Moxie). Imposter chimes, "Google has the headstart. No one can catch up."
Nice troll - now go and re-install your Windoze box, like you do every other day.

I know - I thought about that afterward (dang it!), so just change the "for" to "pro"
Ummm, I might go with:
:-)
while (time_for_action != closed) {
stated_position = against;
}
stated_position = for;
If you can add this into your algorithm, I think it would be complete

IIRC, some of the GUI technology was licensed from Apple. They may not want to see it licensed. It is/was one of the better GUIs out there. OS/2 RIP

It was a helluva space heater - even if you didn't need it for computin'.
Oh, you must mean teaching evolution in schools - right?
