Thats not the point atall. A lot of invasions have occured in history and a lot of countries have trying to stop the others from doing so. My point here is, see how this turned out. The U.S., after they made us of them, left them high&dry! As long as their work is done they dont mind sacrifising the lives of thousands of non-americans. It is absolute disregard for humanity. The fact that the CIA trained the most wanted man on earth, who was once with them and now against them say a lot about the dirty dealing of the US govt. I dont know what it is, and i'm not saying it is justified, but there sure must be some logic to why Osama and thousands of others who were with the CIA turned so against the Americans, to have such hatred. Clearly, the US has time and again misused its status of the superpower and today even the most-neutral nations hate it for doing that. The US govt. has done a lot of harm to its credibility over the past decades, and the George Bush govt. might just go down in history for putting the last straw on the camels back!
Why dont we start building schools and hospitals instead of bombs and missiles. Why cant we have progree of humanity instead of its destruction? (wonder what darwin would say if he saw this big picture).

You need to chill. From what you above i belive you managed to understand whatever I meant, inspite of the 'short-spellings' for a few words. Thats right, the idea of a common language is to help communicate, that still does'nt mean that a person who doesnt speak a language 100% should not communicate atall with the ppl who do speak the language. Yeah right! The US's win-at-all-cost tactics during the cold-war has probably created half the problems on earth. I often wonder, as to why people forget that Osama Bin Laden was trained by the CIA during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. And they were left helpless once America had got what they wanted. Bombing Iraq without the will of the U.N. shows nothing but arrogance of being the riches(hence most powerful) nation in the world. This act has undermined the power of the U.N. Who knows?! Mebbe this act becomes the first step towards having the U.N. go the 'League of Nations' way. How irresponsible is that?

I dont buy that! Thats just what the government tells you so they can spy on you even more. A terrorist caught at the cost of the invasion of privacy of a 1000 citizens should not be acceptable. There should be better ways to stop terrorism. Mebbe the govt. should wake up try to wipe out the root causes of terrorism. Mebbe if Mr. Bush stopped bullying the world that would help! They should stop hiding behind the terrorist excuse for invading the privacy of citizens.
The problem is that the US govt. has too much money with an 11 tril. GDP ! they really dont have to worry about the day to day 'real problems' of life. So instead of making the entire world a better, progressive, healthy, educated place to live in, they keep spending good money on wars and such fancy idiocracies.

Well, If 90% is the market for non-critical, non-transactions intensive sites then is MYSQL really the one to take on this 90% ? Hello, is'nt someone forgetting MS Access ? The small guyz(sites) anwyas would be able to make do with windoze. So is'nt access the more obvious choice? Also considering windows having a huge market share in the server segment(as of today atleast!), I think access would it.

"Windows is dead" Ohh comeon man! I'm a linux fan too and a MS-hater(not for them being so rich, i actully lookup to them for being so rich. But i hate them cuz of the quality of their stupid products!). Anwyas, i'm a MS hater too, but windows aint anywhere in the remotest vicinity of being dead.:) that requires a bigtime reality check!
Guyz, I think we'er all missing the point here. What do mean by "year of linux" ? Magically linux will gain a 30% or even 20 or even 10% or even 5% share in the OS market? Well ofcourse we all know that is'nt happening! Linux is being used as a server option and that market is steadily growing (and it will remain stedy with no amazing jump in the coming year). But this is a very small segment in terms of numbers in comparison to the desktop segment. Linux, i'm afraid is far far away from being really popular on desktops. Savvy India IT guyz and mebbe(as someone pointed) even parents of IT guyz might use it. But for it to penetrate on the Home Computing scene, is gonna take much much more than the year 2003.
What however could make 2003 : Year of Linux, is the latest development in the Indian IT political circles. The government recently announced that Linux is what it is going in for. (Opening source for windows supposedly did'nt help MS much). This may ussher in a new era for Linux. Imagine lacs of tobe governments desktops would be running linux and thousands and thousands of students in the colleges and universities would be learning and working on Linux. It will be an entire generating growing up on Linux. Unlike the previous one which grew up from the days of MS Dos2.0 all the way till 6.22 and windows XX. Things will change. But just slowly and steadily. Sorry to disappoint you, but nothing drastic is going to happen in the next year alone. - D.O.D.D.
