I am sad to see this show go - As I child I would sit there in rapture as they showed me robot-suits and flying cars
None of it ever came to light - But when you are a kid the idea of people actully having powered robo-suits - Or microwaves that cooked meals in a few seconds - Or any of the thousands of other things they showed - It brought out the kind of wonder and love of technology that breeds a good slashdotter
Oh well - Maybe my kids will be using Nerocannula and be jacked straight into Virtu-Slash-Online
Have you thought about something as simple as layout?
Your design seems close to PostNuke defaults - Which are useful but not always perfect - From my experience of Educators (Student who runs a "Learn Computers" course for other students and teachers) I know that teachers can often be: Clueless - This happens a LOT
You need to make a site that is very easy to use - Things like the small story headers all over the place - They are a bit of an overload on infomation - Simpify the site - remove all the kruft from around the edges and concentrate on the middle
This is all my own opinion but you would be suprised how many people just turn off on a ugly/badly designed website
And you are proud of this?
Go out and read a REAL book before your mind falls into itself
But for the desktop it is not
I have quite happily given out copies of Windows 2000 (bootable with service pack 3 built in and OfficeXP and IE6 and DX9 and MP9(great stuff eh?))
'Normal' people do not pay for Windows
I hate to say this - But if Linux is ever going to take off - Microsoft needs to improve it's security
Longhorn could be our big break - think about it

If the slides are Microsoft then that means PowerPoint - And if you tell someone to use PowerPoint - That leads to the use of ClipArt
