12v DC-DC power supply 60 watt 12 v DC-DC power supply for EPIA boards. Proven mature technology. Works with EPIA, EPIA V and EPIA M motherboards. $ 34.99
Looks pretty good - though if it is so 'mature' why do we not see more of them?
The kid is right - It works like one of those Microphones you got as a kid - SHORT range though - The site does not say how far but I am guessing within 20M~
Now maybe - But how long until you can do things like that - Ever played Morrowind? - When I started this game I was shocked by the sheer amount of things you can do and places you can go
It is in no way as good as a proper D&D session - but the games get closer with each new release
(yes I will be the first person in line for a Neurocannula)
And you know that the reaction to the virus will be anouncments on every OSS related website in the world - and patches - This has been seen before and will happen again
"1) If you participate in illegal file-sharing networks, your computer now belongs to the RIAA. 2) Your BlackIce Defender(tm) firewall will not help you. 3) Snort, RealSecure, Dragon, NFR, and all that other crap cannot detect this attack, or this type of attack. 4) Don't fuck with the RIAA again, scriptkids. 5) We have our own private version of this hydra actively infecting p2p users, and building one giant ddosnet."
There is a huge difference between that and this - Keeping your house warm is something you do because you need to - If HeatB is cheaper and cleaner thant HeatA then you do it
Cars on the other hand are something embedded in our culture - Think about all the different types of racing we enjoy - Think about the big American ideal of gliding down a empty stretch of freeway in a huge caddy with the top down
Think about the people who mod this and mod that on their cars - Will they be able to do that with a Hydrogen Burner (and where does the electricity come from? - Burning things or atomics? - or the small percent of power that comes from clean sources?) I don't think so
I know my first post sounded like a Troll - But I was just pointing out that people love their cars - And it will be a hard thing to change
I own (or look after) a computer which lives in a 'modified' (I ripped all the plastic crud off) HP case (due to its small size)
I installed a new heat-sink+fan and found that when I slid the 'easy to remove' (way back when it took me and a friend about 20 minutes to figure out how to remove) CD/HD/Floppy holding tray back in - It would not fit
End of story: I had to swap the HD and the CD around - which due to a lack of screw holes meant I had to hold the whole thing together with Gaffa-Tape
His age is of no inport - On my irc server/channel I know someone who is 72 and happily talks to us about Seti@Home (he runs many computers for this purpose) plays gangwars and is generally a super-geek
It's nice to see apple updating their beta software - We can only hope to continue (we all must have experienced that long long wait for new features/pest control)
Is this a trend that will continue? - Or is this simply an update that stops Safari eating your first-born or whatever all those bugs did
Because the internet has always seemed to be - to me anyway - a way for people to meet on a level - you can walk into a chat-room - and just talk - post on/. and just be - the idea that one day people will know that I am 'poor' because I cannot pay to access those areas which the well off frequent - Just does not seem right
I have been reading Otherland by Tad Williams and one of the most disturbing ideas presented in it (it is set in and around the 'net' in about 40 years time) is that large areas of the net will be paid for and if you do not have the money then you do not get in
This makes the net into something it should never have to be - A two-tier system
PayPal is good and should be replaced by something better and less likely to break - A worldwide system for 'tipping' - But paying to get into areas of the net? - Chilling
You note I am working in the £ and not the dollar - You can get cheap mac's but to convert I think OSX would be the key - and OSX on a 'non-swivel' iMac is slow
I am hoping for a drop in price - There is still no "bottom end" mac for people who would like to use them but do not have the money (I could get a decent PC for 500£ but a decent mac is at least 1000£)
This is the only thing stopping mac dominating the world
MUHAHAHAH...*cough*

I don't know about you but my phone has a learning function - which does include fuck and hehe and all the other words I like to use

An EXCELLENT idea that is
The idea of me with a plug in my head - and a DM with a plug in his - I would pay per month to have someone use their brain for that purpose

Vibration is the killer - knocking heads about all the time - Heat is something that can be bad - but only in extremes (70 C+)
Move the fan - Or screw it in better to kill the vibration
You own a pair of wire cutters?
You can disable sound
But the problem with those dot-boomers was that they did not have product - they had nothing good to sell - google has everything!
Your point is valid though - We can but hope they find ways to continue existing without becoming bad
It still does not change the fact:
People love google
Everyone is now using it - as it is small - light - fast - easy - and good
People have irc scripts that use it - Embed it in their webpages
I for one hope that google lasts - I would even pay a small amount if it would help keep them going

Or: 'HEY MA - Look how cool I am'
Sounds like crud

Will anyone buy it?
No
Your average guy is happy with his huge and inefficent motor-machine
Untill the goverment MAKES people do something about their waste - People will do nothing
Sad but true - We are a messy race

Case Design sucks

44 is nothing
What comes next?
Can anyone recomend a 'KaZaA Killer' - Something that will let me get the pirated 'appz' and copies of LOTR that I need in my life

Is this the beginning of the end?
Out of all the systems I own (20~) 90% of them have an AM BIOS
After reading this I will buy them no more - But it's food for though
If Microsoft REALLY announced trusted computing - What would people do?
My fear is this: Nothing
Do we really NEED more Blogs?
The people who make this software should look into their hearts and consider this question before unleashing it on the world
The word Smar cracks me up - I can imagine a zombie: "Smarrrrrrrrrr Smarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" etc
Who needs to replace PCI? - It has some limitations but on the whole it works
And with PCI64 emerging - This technology looks like it is never going to get of the ground
Some times innovation works - sometimes - No
