From the article: "the software would need to be custom, no current internet radio software allows you to pick the songs you want to hear, they do it for you."
Apparently this guy has never heard of Massinova. Massinova is an all request trance webcast. The listeners pick the songs via the website and the system queues them up and plays them. It's a great way to find out about good trance.
the original RealPC didn't emulate the entire x86 architecture, just the most important parts. That's why it would only run windows, and before you could use windows RPC had to patch it to take care of the parts that tried to use the missing chip intructions. That's one of the reasons why VPC gained so much more popularity.
If they were just going to speed it up and port to OSX, then they would have still be patching windows, and I can see how MS would throw a bitch fit over that. The delay is probably because they had to complete the emulation, but that's just speculation.
Archos also claims the Multimeda 20 can play DivX, you dont find out until you read the manual that you have to reencode any divx files. It's not just the resolution, its the way the file is encoded, it simply can't play Divx directly.
My take on it was that it was an aphrodisiac. This was confirmed when Persyphonie said he would be in the womens room, and then alluded to his getting a blow job.
The bodies were all digitally created, but the facial features were all recorded from the real actor performances. There's an article about it in the latest Wired.
You will always need an actor, if anything for the original model, and for voice acting.
Also keep in mind that for basic scenes it's still cheaper, both in time and in money, to use mechanical effects and real actors. Something like this is only necessary when practical effects aren't feasible.
If you've got that many books then you're probably already fammilier with him, but if not then check out Orson Scott Card. I haven't been dissapointed by any of his books, and Ender series is very well renouned. You can find a complete list at http://www.hatrack.com/osc/index.shtml
I'd also recommend Anne McCaffrey's DragonRiders series. It's a gigantic series (16 books, not including short stories), and has a nice mix of sci-fi and fantasy. You can find a complete list of the books, as well as a series chronology at: http://kumo.swcp.com/~quirk/afp2.html

Spoken like someone with something to loose.
