How well do Ekiga do NAT traversal? I think the problem-free nature of the Skype system for such is what got it going in the first place. And now that it is entrenched, its proprietary nature keeps it there as few people are interested in making the jump to some FOSS system. This largely thanks to having everyone they know already using Skype.
1. the area one can move in is small, maybe a screen maybe less (depending on the stuff in the scene, like water).
2. enemies moves damn fast!
3. you need to key in the spells over and over. no way to key one in once and have repeat, or even store a couple on a hotkey for quick access. Oh and lets not forget that you can direct the effect of the spell towards yourself by hitting the wrong button.
So here you are, running circles with the enemy barking down your back trying to hammer in the right combo to drop that uber spell and hope you do not hit the wrong button that will turn the spell against yourself and end the session right there.
Another case of USA == world in tech news circles. Iirc, US carriers (that use GSM/UMTS) have never bothered implementing video calls. As such, the US tech market has barely been aware that it existed. Then comes Jobs on stage and does his typical superlative carpet bomb intro of facetime. And suddenly it is all the rage. This while one have been able to use video calls on feature phones in Europe for a decade, and if on a symbian phone (or winmob if one had one with a front facing camera), via skype, qik or similar services.
This is still using H264, as gtalk video used when first introduced? Or does it support webm or similar freely implementable codecs? And if yes to the latter, when can we see it working on Pidgin?
Sounds like the script for your average US situational comedy to me. But then i fear the AI from the article may well outperform me on the innuendo part (one aspect of being a aspie i guess).
used to be that DF ran, but did so slowly. But testing now i see that the performance is basically the same as i recall it being on Windows so i guess i missed a news item at some point. Thanks for getting me to have another look (Adventure mode is insanely brutal btw).
Sadly the patent system have been overrun with vaguely worded defensive patents set up not because some corporation or individual plans to implement said patent, but to catch others that happens to make something similar enough to the vague words used to describe the patent claim.
And good luck trying to search for those patents without paying some patent lawyer for several months of reading time.
supersportscars and gold watches? Or how platium credit cards became so common that the big names hand to introduce black cards as the new "more money then brains" category?
I guess the basic problem is one of not having independent entities that can review and fact check the information for the government, and so have to rely on whatever the corporate representatives tell them.
Tho given how dependent Japan seems to be on nuclear power, i guess they need to keep the bad news to a minimum to try and keep the militant environmentalists at bay.
State or county government, right? not federal?
And the last time someone tried to privatize that, there was civil war...
I think perhaps the game engine is lacking a bit for that to be possible.
Or they noticed but someone high up was working with the guy...

Sadly it only works on Linux, iirc.
adblock and/or noscript for the win ;)
tried it, found the gameplay way too intense.

And one is free to give as little or as much as one is willing to risk loosing.
Quite likely as i recall Openpandora got into trouble with Paypal because they could not report shipment sent after x days of payment.

In other words the military version of bruised middle management ego...
Part of that problem, iirc, was the US Army going with a different, cheaper, ammo then intended during design.

thanks for the heads up, as it may indeed have been a while since i checked for updates (maybe because i spend most of my days using Linux).

The adventurer mode is underdeveloped (to put it mildly) compared to the fortress mode.
Some of the holders of those blocks have returns the unused parts willingly, iirc.

And then sit on their own hands for 5 years doing nothing...

Double entendre?
