there are a few sites where you can buy credit card #'s and/or physical credit cards with stolen numbers programmed on them.
sooo where do you think they get their thousands of cc#'s from?
(no, I dont do that; no, I wont tell you the site; and no, you cant pay by credit card!:P)
but seriously, most of these credit card thefts are likely smaller scale and not known by the company who they were stole from...what goods a ton of cc#'s if they know they are stolen and tracking them like a mofo!
"The University is currently developing a communication plan and will contact affected individuals as soon as possible. At this juncture, there is no evidence that the data have been further exposed or misused."
I shall now write a script that emails UT random ssn's and asks "was I a affected and what information do you have on me?"
muhahhahaha...

Back when JFK proposed going to space nobody thought it was possible then, just that maybe some day it would be.
The international space station is great, and will be used for experimentation in space regardless of what other projects that we undergo in the space field. It will not replace the space station by any means.
canada has been sneaking that south for the last decade, however americans have only replied thats theres two quarts in a hogs hind and eleventeen paces in a stride...
They cant seem to get the system where everything is a factor of 10 of everything else...
why remember 1m=10decimeters=100centimeters=1000millimeters when you can remember 1 yard = 1239243 paces = 13212 inches = 12314329324230320932093093 wierd-named-things.
silly americans! math is for foreigners! *trix commercial with +,=,-,% signs going across the screen*
You elected him...
Was there a lot of terrorist activity against the US during the space race?
And the world would be much happier if the US stopped trying to run every other country... :) I know I would be. Luckily you have not bothered us too much.
they plan on anchoring it off the coast of australia (or apparently thats a good spot for it)
(i dont know why)
and also apparently due to the forces acting on it if it did "fall" or break it would go flying off into space instead of collapsing on earth
keep in mind how fast the earth is spinning! if you spin a basketball with a straw attached to it and the straw gets unstuck from the basketball...where will the straw go? It sure wont collapse onto the ball.
Why does Bush not say that his goal for America is to construct this during this decade? (similar to JFK, etc)
This time in our history will be looked back at for terrorism, war, and world diplomatic struggles. Why not unite and construct something of this magnitude to unite us all? I am sure the terrorist strikes will stop themselves if the US gains a reputation for a R&D and science nation instead of a warring and military nation.
If the U.S. put a 6 month hold on current military spending on new aircraft/ships/etc they could afford this construction 10 times over.
Assuming your explanation to be true, although I thought Riemann's sum and Riemann's hypothesis were different, anyways assuming your explanation to be true:
you really want to be taking the limits of your halving. you will never quite get there if you just keep taking the halves and adding them up, consider this.
to whatever the closest object is to you, keep moving halfway to it...you will NEVER EVER get there:)
however if you take the limit of how far you have left to go, you will be there:P
I am really glad someone pointed out your horrible spelling mistakes while you were being critical of me. I was making a point, not attempting to win a spelling bee. Secondly, you made a completely offtopic post in reply to my point concerning the discussion; THAT should lose points. Just for good measure, this post is gramatically correct and has proper punctuation.
Oh, and go to hell you anonymous coward.
in other news columbia and aol combine forces to send you more cds of music you dont want than you can ever imagine. 3rd world countries are now relying on these cds for building materials for dramatically larger houses than they were previously able to build.
Oh golly, AOL the classic demon is trying to sell music. I can only see good things coming from this
First: who is going to PAY for a WORSE service than they can already get for free? I have yet to see any advantages to any of these pay to download music ideas. I can get streaming radio from one of a variety of sites, including my local radio station I can use kazaaa/p2p to dl whatever songs i want all of a sudden I want to pay for this same service? GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW/GOOD TO MAKE IT WORTHWHILE!
Second: I really question the quality of what they are bringing to the market here...is there a list of artists they have deals with that we can download from? As much as I love no name artists and old Britney Spears albums are they able to offer ALL songs? Doubtful. So their service is worse than the current free services
bah enough ranting...who wants to bet me $10 that p2p programs that are free have more users in a years time than AOL.
hehe in the true spirt of a slashdotter you didnt read very far....once you get to the juicy part you have to pay!!!
"The following pages are restricted to users of our Premium service. If you are not member you can buy the complete article as a PDF-file for Euro 1.99. Included you will find a complementary copy of the tools we used to find out what is going on with Windows Update"
First off...office space is SOOO unrealistic.
*Cough*Swordfish*Cough*
The average computer programmer does all of his programming at night, while drinking lots of wine??? (ewww hit the hard stuff already) and while hallie barry is naked in the room with you.
Oh and you have like 50 computer screens in front of you all showing rotating 3d objects. No...not for 3d development...for straight programming silly. Dont you have that C++ addon?
If you can get all the pretty shapes to align then you are done!
*cough*Office Space*cough*
But you must keep all this a secret, last time I told my boss that he asked what real work I had got done in the last month and then fired me...but then i stayed and they kept moving my desk...but i kept my stapler.
You OBVIOUSLY didnt read the article.
You crazy fool! Going to the supermarket and buying boxes of crackers! All you have to do is put out a honeypot and crackers will come to you. I think it has something to do with a jar of pennies and grocery gateway.
NOTE: grocery gateway did not like when I did this and i take no responsibility for your actions involving jars of pennies and acquiring crackers. It IS after all blackhat.
due to your poor logging practices you can no longer supply enough pulp and paper for your country
where are you going to magically get more? oh wait you turn to canada...just like for electricity.
you run out of a resource, buy from canada, then complain canada is "dumping" that on you.
and canada could somehow magically "dump" gold and diamonds on you? haha...all of these resources have trading prices which are determined in stock-market like conditions which rely on availability and such. why the hell would canada sell you diamonds for cheaper to "dump" them on you when diamonds is such a restricted resource and only a certain number are produced yearly to keep demand above supply, which keeps prices high.
fool.
im just wondering how you got an "insightful" after clearly stating you didnt read the article...all of these questions of yours could be answered in the article!
most of these posts are saying schools arent doing the right thing or preparing them the right way...CHANGE SCHOOLS!
my school provides the experience/concepts/practical use/etc
i thank you in giving me motivation to work hard and finish here...so i can hire and fire you guys!
change schools.
i hope to hell they were telling you to keep focused on black box for one specific situation and not for coding in general.
because if you ever start doing microprogramming or embedded systems you are sunk.

9 out of 10 times my company's news fetcher gets me articles faster than they are slashdotted.
in other news, 1 out of 10 articles it gets me get slashdotted...
if you arent confused, i am.

you were able to afford a computer?
-50000000000 karma points
I have not known Islamic terrorist groups to attack Canada
The majority of Canadians are Christian.
So, despite that being a "reason", i see it as more of an excuse...

I am not saying that America does not spend on research and development.
I am simply saying you spend far more on military equipment.
Hence, you gain the reputation as a military nation.

maple and matlab i have found to be useful
but that is only if u are doing a highly intensive amount of math
otherwise it takes longer to figure the gui and usefulness out than to figure out the problem on your own
matlab rules for matrix math
