Well I bought a laptop back in the day...a p166 toshiba which to this day has enough power to word process...surf the internet, but unfortunately the battery and cdrom both died.
Now when I bought it I thought it was kinda wierd...it was in like a crayola theme and had lots of kids games on it and stuff, but the guy I got it from said it was his kids. So I am about to format it, since it was full of junk and the little 2 gig hd was filled, when all of a sudden what do i discover but a c:\private\ dir!!!
So...as any good person does I formatted without looking at it. *cough*
Turns out daddy had a gay pron fetish!
After being disgusted by this, especially since it was on his KIDS computer, I formatted and lived happily ever after.
Now, if someone was to buy the laptop from me they would find plenty of straight pron on it!!!
(and i just might leave it there as a little present)

  2. Less than exciting on Dealers of Lightning · · Score: 2

I am sorry to say, but many books I have read on technology related topics just dont seem to capture the moment. I usually enjoy history books in general, but technological history books just seem overly bland, dry, and ininformative. Hind sight is 30/30 in the technological field, so to look back and see if xerox "blew it" is not how I would go about writing a book. But enough hating on the book, I have read worse and it is *slightly* interesting.

I have several ideas with what I would like to do with this technology.
FIRST: make an invisible suit...you know the old deal with the cameras displaying the stuff on you so you look like your background or at least enough like it to blend in
SECOND: make an invisible *james bond* car
THIRD: make an invisible *harry potter* cloak
FOURTH: make my ceiling display some high quality pron for those kinky nights.

But why do you care if someone finds out how you voted? To be honest with you I really doubt anyone will put the time and effort into figuring out how joe schmoe votes in his municipal election. It doesnt matter how you vote! It matters how the mass majority of ignorant people vote!

My 1ghz server with 3 terrabytes of ram can handle any traffic you can throw at it!!! Now to upgrade that 56k....

    Burning karma :(

  6. Why not on IFPI Employee Describes P2P Sabotage Activities · · Score: 1

P2P networks are great...people share their files and download other peoples shared files...
Its kinda special in a way. Like communism. In theory its perfect! Everyone shares and plays nice with one another, everyone has access to everyone elses files so what you have that I want, I can get! Likewise, what i have that you want, you can get!
Then of course in this utopia of piracy there will be some waves, hence where communism comes in. In a practical use, there are bastards that dont share their files. This makes a larger load on the people sharing their files, and less of them do so as well. Then there are bigger bastards that even fake share items so you wont ban them. Then there is the RIAA and such trying to screw things up. Not unlike communism, P2P is plagued by the few who dont do their share!
So enough of a rant of communism, lets get back to P2P. I guarentee the cost of the bandwidth those boys are using far outweighs their gains. Sure, everyone may have once or twice got a Britney Spears song that was all static, but that wont stop them from trying again! To compensate for the sheer number of users they would have to have mad boxens using mad bandwidth...not worthwhile
On a side note, what happened to just getting 0day albums from xdcc bots?
