I hate to repeat myself but... The tags are smaller than a single grain of sand. How can you possibly remove something that you can't see? I like the idea of rendering it useless with some sort of zapper like a poster stated.
Wouldn't you like to know that the button you pressed is actually tallying a vote for the name beside it? I sure do. Don't you want to know that your vote is stored in a secure place? I sure do. Don't you want an auditable paper trail in case of a recount? I sure do. Ask your self these questions and you'll understand why it's still being discussed.
Damn kid foiled our plans for world domination

Use is not a crime. It's the posession, transportation, and/or distribution that's the crime. You can be high as a kite and not be touched by the law (assuming you smoked all your stash before the cops show up).
To satisfy the RIAA, record companies, artists, and for your own enjoyment. You can do the math and send photo copied money to each party for the $1.99 CD you purchased at the garage sale.

p2p programs give you the ability to infringe copyright.
Just like guns give you the ability to shoot someone.
Without them you lose your ability to commit such acts.
