Life lesson #362
Don't write, type, or record anything that could come back to haunt you or embarass you.
Or if you must keep records of your criminal activity, or bad love poetry about the person who sat next to you in the tenth grade, make up your own alphabet or something.
But with all of the thunderstorms won't it be going off almost all the time? I used to live in Colorado, and I remember certain times of year where it seemed like there was lightning everyday. Will people actually bother to take shelter, or will it be like how people treat tornado warnings in some places? Hey look lightning is gonna strike here! Lets watch-cool...zap! Another moron bites the dust.
Along with having too many workers, the skills companies need from workers has changed. Most places aren't building new stuff from scratch anymore- they just need folks to maintain what they have and maybe upgrade to the latest, greatest thing. The network is in place, the web page is designed, and so forth. Maintaining a system takes less workers then designing it and setting it up.
Well how informed does the electorate need to be about the dog catcher anyhow?
The problem with splitting up elections, besides cost, is that people won't make the effort to come and vote for the dog catcher because they don't care about it. I only show up at the off year elections because I care about who is on school board.
Besides for many of the local elections on our ballot, there is only one person running for a particular office. Maybe in bigger towns they have more choices.
