Actually the Senate bill, which is what he signed, has been up for weeks. The House reconciliation bill which is now in the hands of the Senate is nowhere near signing. What remains to be seen is if the Senate, which actually likes the Senate bill (they passed it after all), will actually pass the reconciliation bill.
Just showing up for a vote doesn't mean they are not lazy or that they in fact are doing their job. It is very possible that those seven senators were busy working on something else and if they knew that the vote was going to be overwhelmingly in favor of passage and breaking away from what they were working on in their office to go over to the senate chamber and cast a vote would have changed nothing perhaps they just kept on working.
If they haven't yet repealed the telephone tax to pay for the spanish-american war what the hell makes you think this will ever get repealed? You MUST be new here?
"Twenty-five percent of people questioned in the poll say Congress should pass legislation similar to the bills passed by both chambers, with 48 percent saying lawmakers should work on an entirely new bill and a quarter saying Congress should stop all work on health care reform."
This was just the first poll that came up in a quick google but most of the polling data for the last month was similar. Basically all your anecdote shows is that you only hang out with people you agree with which falls into the 25%. The previous AC can point to polling data to back him up.
Tisdale Cabernet, $3.99/bottle or 3 bottles for $10 at my local wine shop. Great everyday drinking red. Of course the boxed wine reduces exposure to air so would probably keep longer.
For a dry white I go this route:
5 gallons apple juice
two pounds sugar
1 packet Montrachet yeast
ferment in a glass carboy until it falls clear (could be three+ months)
bottle
enjoy a crisp dry white with very little "apple" taste.
I actually sometimes keg this and push it with a couple PSI of co2 from one of the kegerator taps.
For $400 I can use a push stick to keep my fingers from coming within 6 inches of the blade and buy a nice jointer or drill press.
I'm not saying you shouldn't buy a saw stop, you just should not require me to, I learned to keep my fingers out of the moving parts of tools from my grandfather and father.
Of all the private insurance plans I have been on over the last 22 years I've never heard of one that covered a procedure and did not cover a necessary hospital stay. Over the last four years my wife has had 5 back surgeries and the hospital stay was covered. Suggesting that the hospital stay would not be covered is just plain silly.
Actually between the wife's third and fourth surgeries I did lose my job, although I did find new employment before severance ran out from the previous job.
I assume the $50/month private health care is a supplement to the public health care you pay for in your taxes? What does the $50/mo get you on top of the governemnt plan and how much per month of your taxes pays for the government plan?
Compared to what the price would have been without it, yes I am happy.
About the same as the guy in the next cube at work. Approx $600 a month. There is a 20% co-pay with a max of $3,000 per person per year. Still my total out of pocket is not killing me. I will admit my insurance with my previous employer was better but cost more.
No offense but for me it is not, I've had a newborn child in NICU and my wife has had 5 back surgeries and the "system" worked just fine as it does for a large majority of people. Yes there are a number of people that lack health insurance (some of whom do so by choice) and that is a problem that should be addressed but this bill seems to be an awfully expensive way for that 15% (maybe larger now with the economic downturn) of the people without coverage to get coverage.
Actually if the doctor only ordered a cholesterol test and the lab ran other tests without authorization the insurance company would likely deny the claim. OTOH if the doctor is ordering tests you don't need (your 50 and getting a PSA/DRE test every year) you as a consumer should be putting a stop to it.
Actually, after having a newborn spend 26 days in neonatal ICU I'm pretty happy with my insurance company.
Oh, and my wife's five back surgeries.
Of course I'm only a single data point, I'm sure the vast majority get completely screwed over and I'm the only one with a miraculously good experience.
Not just the "insane" requests, but every request submitted and rejected during the Bush years was probably re-submitted in 2009. It would be interesting to see stats on %rejected instead of just total numbers.

Obviously the GPS receiver and the transponder and satellites must be extremely reliable and accurate.

How about a comparison to say folding@home or other distributed projects? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_distributed_computing_projects

Saw stop contractors table saw $699
Sears table saw $299

It's been a while since I checked but it used to be about $400 to replace the sacrificial part.

Y5B Problem
that was supposed to be "less than 50" but apparently the less than symbol is not welcome here.

..., and the current system is broken.

Eye tracking with an interior camera.
I stand corrected, thank you all for setting me right.
In any country with the hardware to hook a card reader to you can probably buy the card reader locally.
