if i were one of the crappy artist listed (maybe radiohead as the exception) i'd be worried that my other crappeir songs would never get listened to, i think it promotes better individual songs, which is good!
well my sister has long wanted a ps2, while i find my computer good enough... she mainly wants it for the DVD, the cheap entertainment is a plus. i don't have the extra cash for it but i'm sure my parents would more likely consider it.
i also forgot to mention... just seems like more bad than good. "anyone" can access this information. could a "sensor" detect where i am in a building, then simply by accessing a site an x-girlfriend of mine could pinpoint me and harass me... just seems a bit pointless. unless of course you're one of my x's =(
sure standards are great and all and they're setting a good example for people to follow. but what real application does this have? i mean, will it make my color tv better? =\ I'd like to see efforts put to better use.
for some reason eberyone thinks your info has to be sold for the spammers to get it. thats discusting incorrect! there are ways for them to get into the databases of emails, you'd probably be surprised.
i'm glad to see he somewhat, as i read it, defends open source. as a 19 year old just getting started with web development one of my worries has been convincing potential clients that php is not less secure than asp. sometimes it's hard to explain the benefits to those who don't understand. hopefully this article will be a good tool for me to use.
