Costanoan and Ohlone Native American Indian languages come to mind, being local to where I grew up (Carmel CA). I had a teacher in high school who undertook to find and learn a few dozen Ohlone words from a very old woman who hardly remembered it anymore. I believe there are less than 100 words known.
The race to save dying languages is going on across the United States. Tribes are videotaping elders and, in a few cases, children are being taught their ancient tongue in immersion programs. Eighty-five California languages are believed to be endangered or dormant.

EXACTLY.
Note that it was 10 years ago this coming April when Canter and Siegel spewed their Green Card spam on USENET. By July 1994 email spam was a significant enough problem to be the focus of an article in Time Magazine:
"Battle for the Soul of the Internet", by Philip Elmer-Dewitt
TIME Domestic, July 25, 1994 Volume 144, No. 4
Flash forward almost 10 years to 2004 now, and we have not accomplished a single thing to actually stop the exponentially increasing spew of spam. All we do is play Whack-A-Mole each time the spammers come up with a new trick.
I don't see any reason to believe that Verisign is going to act any differently WRT DSN wildcards in the.com and.net TLD and the Sitefinder "service". If we let them get away with launching Sitefinder again, expect to play Whack-A-Mole with Verisign for the next 10 years too.

1) If you don't get a reply email with a tracking number within an hour or so, resubmit.
2) If you do get a reply email with a tracking number, but they don't finish processing your submission, fax a copy of the reply email to them and they will process it manually. They need a copy of the reply email with the *tracking number* to do this, that's why there's step 1 first.
