This seems to be the scariest change for me. MPs can handle that type of guard duty. Changing all references of MP to Guard means the military can start using either regular enlisted who are not properly trained to run a prison, or hire private contractors to run the prison. We already have private prisons stateside.
The right to privacy exists because the constitution does not give the government power to infringe on your privacy. The bill of rights is merely reiterating something that you already have. Remember the bill of rights is not an enumeration of your rights, but a listing of some the government is being explicitly forbidden to infringe on.
People have rights.
The Government has powers granted to it by the people.
The sick fascination with immediate results is what is causing this issue to begin with.
Election results do not need to be available immediately. Taking a day or a week for counting is perfectly fine. For some reason though we need to have live coverage as the polls close to find out who wins. It really doesn't matter all that much.
Wonder how much it would cost to move the station to a new orbit. Launch up giant rocket in sections, strap it on, and give the thing a boost into a proper orbit. Don't even tell the russians! If they complain tell them they can move it back.
GPL protects the freedom of the user, not the freedom of the distributor.
Sometimes the developer is a user and sometimes the developer is the distributor.
Do you get several failed requests before a successful one? The tor exit node would have to be outside the US, so I imagine there must be many failed queries for every success.
The best sys admins are the ones you never notice.
If the productive workers in a company never see or need to talk to a sys admin it's been a productive day for the admins.
Where do you think the companies get the money to pay these prices? By billing the customer. All the FCC is doing is shifting "taxes" from something the tax payer is able to notice to a bump in the price you pay for a service.
It's much easier to take citizens' money when they aren't aware the government is doing it.
The Viking craft weren't rovers. They simply sat where they landed taking readings and running on a nuclear reactor. Not much on them to break. Since they ran off nuclear power dust and winter weren't obstacles to keeping the landers running. I think Viking was transmit only too. No user input to change the mission.
The rovers are much more impressive.
Are you saying a classification system doesn't have rigidly defined borders that never intersect?
This guys analysis sounds like every Venn diagram I've ever seen. Although you seem to be implying if a Venn diagram has an overlap it must not be true.
I found that line pretty annoying. The summary itself is factually incorrect about the W3C event and to follow up with an insult to a W3C member is plain rude. That "zinger" is calling the person a liar when he did no such thing. This slashdot story needs a major editorial update including an apology.
If they were using hotmail accounts the emails would have been properly backed up.
As it stands, there was a massive violation of the Presidential Records Act and the evidence has been destroyed. Either the server admin was following a backup/deletion policy dictated by a willful violation of the law from higher ups at the RNC, or he is incompetent. I'm going to bet on following a policy that was a willful violation of the law. He's going to flip and hopefully someone will end up in jail for usurping the Republic.
Just because there is an issue does not mean there are two sides to be debated. Microsoft has made unsubstantiated claims. There is no "other" side to argue and there is way to have a debate. If Microsoft was to publish a list of patents upon which they believe OSS is infringing a debate would be possible. As of now someone defending Microsoft can say 1) Microsoft has a lot of patents so Linux/OpenOffice/OSS MUST be infringing and 2) Because Microsoft said so.
There is no argument and there is no other side to have an open mind about. Until Microsoft releases a comprehensive or even a partial list of infringement what you are asking for is for some random person to make stuff up for the purpose of having two sides to an issue.
Microsoft is free to leave the market. If the EU is hostile enough to international business the problem will self correct. Once the only plane you can fly is an Airbus for 1500 EURO because they forced out the competition. Everyone can just trash their computers and buy from Apple... and then Apple with have the monopoly.
Thank you for your very informative post. Could you please expand the part where enlisted are trained to run prisoner of war detention camps? Thanks!

I figured he was floored when he opened the box.

It's amazing how all the luckiest people I know are also the hardest working. I wonder why that is.
I wasn't even going to research ATI, but now I'll definitely take a look.
You need to stop watching so much CSI.
They managed to sell both of them?

Teaches OpenGL good.
This isn't an attack on the server. It is a hijack attack against clients of the server.

Full of penis enlargement advertisements?
I sure hope not.

Q: Have you stopped beating your wife yet?
A: Of course. There would be no other way for the editors to differentiate the dupes.
