beside any heavy computing task (like bruteforcing a bank account or chess games) this *may* help big software company to go web.

That means a way to 'port' an application to web with minimal compiling issues. Like what is said in google blog, adobe will finally deliver a plugin to let you photoshop on the web. This will improve our experience with photo-printing web sites, I already see new facebook applications coming out with "let's do so-and-so to your friends faces!"

And, lastly, in time of crisis one can imagine that big company are not going to fund IT dept. as in the past, and this is a good chance to share some computing load with clients!
    I'd love a in my homepage! :-)

In fact all activies which requires big load on servers can be moved on clients. It's like: let me open my gmail to run antispam plugin!

It really sounds like IKEA leit motif: it's cheap because you do part of the work, like help yourself food buffet (you pay what you take, not the service).

Hope in the future users will be able to create computing groups, like "Let my machine do part of my friends machine work when I'm finished".

Whoa, this will also have impacts on so-called cyber-strikes, web-strikes!

so many dreams.. so little time... let's go play google quake (gooake?) online! :-)

Well I might be wrong but instead of:
    - This table has a problem, it needs a different wooden leg

    I'd prefer:
    - this table is unstable, like EXAMPLE, and in EXAMPLE, and in EXAMPLE. that's why I think this table needs a new wooden leg. Put here some description about why wooden, why new and why the leg.

Now I know everyone talking about these stuff is surely an expert and, before talking about what linux needs, he probably went down a series of troubles, cases and scenarios. But I simply don't like when the problem is just the way I do something. The problem should be the result of the way.

Let me give another example. I'm in my car, and driving by route 123. A policeman issue an halt and say: The problem is the road 123, you should be driving route 66.
Maybe HE knows where I'd like to go and his suggestion is right. but the road itself is not the problem.
The problem is: Go West side.
Solution(s): drive route 66 or take a couple of flight.

One could better ask: Why are you driving through this street? where would you like to go?

And then, eventually, analyze why route66 or a couple of flight are better than route 123.

    cheers!

    Hey :)
Actually the worst thing about p0rn happened to me is:

a friend ask to me to configure some internet program, mostly to enable webcam for live chat.

Well, as soon as I started the application provided with webcam, just to test if he was able to insert the provided CD and click next I agree next next OK YES Finish. Well, what's the worst thing one can take a shot of himself? no, it's not the face.

Strange, as soon as I get this pics-populated-screen I took my hand off the keyboard, ask yourself why.

    Ugly.

    Hey BCC (Black Copter Control),
    don't worry I was only joking! ;)

    I'll have to admit:
some months ago, I decided to stop using an hibrid windows/Linux machine and to drop off windows. A dual boot machine is nearly useless for me, since I really don't like to reboot every time I need to switch OS (and I don't need to switch OS, thanks to wine and plex86). So I bang in slack and times passed by.

One night I back home, I was really drunk. Well, it was about 4am, so I sit down in front of slack, I started Evolution, checked mail and I find out a friend of me telling to check a site for a nice flash movie.

Ok, go on mozilla, ROAR, navigate to that site, find out the link... and HANG. Mozilla hanged, probably the bastard flash player. Ok, let's try once more. Open mozilla, go to the site, follow the link, killall mozilla.

You must know that my patience is VERY limited when I'm drunk, especially in front of a gray-buzzing-box with some gadget (say:mouse and keyb) attached.

Suddenly my self control went down, alcool fills up my skull and I banged in my Windows CD.

I was able to see the flash movie in two hour, but since I was drunk I drop something like 7000 audio files, some gb of videos and lots of other files. As you now, critical documents have backups, and backups sometimes work. It worked.

That night I learned a lesson: never NEVER manage my partition table while drunk, especially when I have to repartition disc one, and I edit partition on disc two.
