    The idea that Apple is doing something unique here is ridiculous. My call history arrives in the mail to me each month. That record is probably kept indefinitely and is easily available by subpoena.

    I totally agree. If one is a serious photographer or film maker, packing your data onto a digital back-up is a waste of time, effort, and diversion from your stated goal. Finish the project, get it into analog or multiple distributed digital formats. A file is a not a photograph.

    Opera was always two years behind in coming out with Mac versions. It must piss them off, when they finally have a version that works on System 9.2.2 that it's doomed. When I finally got Safari, the final insult was the totally roundabout way to move my bookmarks. Seems Opera will only import bookmarks, not export. Had to use some shareware to pull it off.

    I'll bet ten to one that the automobile industry lobbied against their use. Also seems very bizarre to ban something before it exists. Is that legal? Has San Francisco turned into a bunch of luddites now that the .bomb crash has set it? If the seguay is allowed to prosper, cars will be gone from the central parts of cities the world over in 10 years. I wonder what the U.S Postal Service is going to do in San Francisco? They are getting the first free ones
