    You are giving credit to the iPhone as being different enough from existing phones. However you are judging the iWatch (if there is such a thing) without knowing anything about it. For all you know the gap between existing "smartwatches" and the "iWatch" will be greater than the gap between then existing smartphones and the iPhone.

    I can't see going after the market for fitness buffs because there just aren't enough of them who care about heart rates, etc.

    Yet. Don't forget marketing can make people want a facility they hadn't thought about before.

    I don't think they'll go after the chronically ill specifically. I think they'll go for the people that want to be fit, and the people who are concerned about staying healthy. And they'll do that offering the kinds of measurements you mention.

    Knowing Apple, it will probably only work with iTunes, the worst POS software since Windows...

    It's been a few years since iOS devices have required iTunes. They can do updates, sync, backup, purchase software and media etc online without ever being connected to iTunes.

    I find it hilarious, though, that people are open to this possibility but so hostile to the idea of creationism.

    I think you'll find that the number of people who are open to this is several orders of magnitudes smaller than the people who believe in traditional creationism.

    When the Director asks my boss why I'm no longer willing to put in the whacky hours, and is told that some underling was pissed off because they couldn't find me - well, who do you figure wins that conflict?

    Well not you. For a month you managed to work the 40 hours you are paid for instead of 60 hours. But once this was resolved you went back to working 60 hours. You lost.

    I have no idea of his political standings.

    Then you're not British. He writes right wing articles for The Times and The Sun. He criticises Labour Party politicians, and was a Thatcher fan. No one British is in any doubt of his politics.

    Clarkson hasn't said a single thing bad about Tesla since he was caught lying in his first hatchet job

    And so why doesn't his lies in the first "hatchet job" not count?

    As to how I know about other right wingers criticising Tesla, I'm talking about posters here, of which there are a fair number with well known politics, expounded at length over the years.

    Trouble with your argument is that the posters who criticise Tesla on here are mostly from the right. Just as Jeremy Clarkson, the TV presenter of Top Gear, who criticises Tesla to the point of lying, is a right wing twat.

    Nothing wrong with leaving at 4pm if you started work at 7am. And certainly nothing wrong with employees not responding to work communications outside working hours.

    Without that 'plague' as you call it [business], you wouldn't be sitting here on slashdot complaining about it, as there would be no slashdot, no internet, no computers, no electricity...

    Lets see. Slashdot was created as a personal blog, business only came later. The Internet was created by various public sector agencies. Computers were invented by government code breakers. And electricity is a natural phenomenon.

    So no, that statement is false. For sure business took part later, as that's what businesses do in a capitalistic world - leech onto good ideas and make money out of them.

    So it's quite a good place to go when you want to find trolls then.

    Slashdot's moderation system seem to do a good job of preventing trolling.

    Hardly! It just masks the most obvious efforts at -1, where people that stuff can still see it. It doesn't prevent trolls at all.

    What do you mean by "documented"? Where can I find the list of all accidents for all makes and types of car? Because if you don't have one, you can't possibly make the statistical claims you are trying to.

    It hurting the company seems to be a personal view of yours, not a truth. Most people are happy to hear Teslas side. Only people with ann axe to grind are annoyed.

    The front trunk area is mostly storage. Under that there is an AC unit, electric power steering, and an air fan (for cooling the batteries I guess). Presumably at most, the air fan was in operation as the car had recently returned and was parked.

    Because the number of fires was disproportionate to the number of accidents and vehicle miles driven, and last I checked, by over an order of magnitude.

    You didn't ever check.

    But don't let that stop fanbois from spinning irrelevant statistics to try to show otherwise.

    I think you've set your own bias out quite clearly there.

    He didn't say it did. He was going through the top 3 causes of automobile fires. Not EV fires.

    And it could have been a short in the garage lighting circuit or electric garage door. Fires from those causes would also be likely to happen when the car and owner arrives or leaves.

    The rush to draw conclusions seems to be from those who are pointing the finger at the Tesla. They are the ones not waiting for the investigation. The GP was only responding to those original assumptions.

    Odd that the owner refused. Presumably he was covered by insurance. But it's going to cost him in excess and/or higher premiums.
