  1. EZ Board on Aids For Communicating With Hospitalized People? · · Score: 1

I found this: https://www.shop.vidatak.com/displayProductDocumen t.hg?productId=1&categoryId=4/ You could probably make a homemade version pretty easily.

  2. Re:I'm glad your company isn't a provider of mine on Disconnecting Completely While On Vacation? · · Score: 1

There's an old saying, "The graveyard is full of indispensable people."

We're not as important as we think we are.

  3. Starmaker on What Makes Great Science Fiction? · · Score: 1

Olaf Stapledon novel from the thirties. It starts with a man on a hill and crosses the Universe, stopping along the way to visit planets and beings. The feeling I want from SF is a sense of wonder. Even after 30 years of reading science fiction, this book still made my jaw drop. Short on plot, long on ideas. Someone once suggested that other writers have made whole careers out of single sentences from "Starmaker".

    Have a look.

I read somewhere recently that, as a percentage of his total worth, Bill Gates donates less than the average poor person. And he seems to do it onlyh when he's in trouble.

  5. Star Maker shines on Star Maker · · Score: 1

This is on my Top Ten list of SF. When I read this , after 20 years of reading every species of science fiction, my jaw dropped. I thought I'd read about every kind of alien and ET culture.

I think Brian Aldiss said, "Other science fiction writers have made whole careers out of a single sentence from Star Maker". Think of Arthur C. Clarke, Doc Smith, Asimov, Niven. This doesn't diminish their brilliance, but it shows how many creative ideas are jammed into this book.

No, it isn't an easy read for modern readers, and it doesn't have a normal plot, but it's well worth the ride.
