    The way I see it, is that this game's target customer base, is not the type of person to fork over $50 for a game, nevertheless continue to pay for it over months and months.

    The recreational gamer (don't know another word for a non-hardcore gamer) isn't ready to pay that kind of money.

    It's quite true that many large companies are signing on to the opensource movement, however, these companies, in general, are not attempting to incorporate opensource into their mainstream projects as far as I've seen.

    I did download mandrake, but I couldn't get a good, non-corrupt download, it would burn, but there would be no files on the CD. I decided to give up and just went with RH.

    A fair enough point, I really don't know as much about OSes as I should, being a programmer, but I do know more than the average user. So, it's ready for the slightly-above-average masses?

    I just installed linux (red hat 8.0) for the first time ( yeah, I'm a newbie ), and I was impressed at how easy it was to just jump into. I definitely think linux has made strides in its accessability to the masses.

    The military is also working on personal digital assistant which can help track medical information on soldiers in the field. This could be a good army recruiting tool for us nerds! Brendan
