Last I heard is that he lives at Barnes Place(a street) in Colombo. This is quite far from the coast, and Colombo itself hasn't been affected.
So he probably should be safe.

with opera and firefox available, there is simply no reason to use IE on Windows. Switched to Opera 3 years ago and haven't looked back since.
