I can relate to this question because I graduated in 2001 with a Bach. Mathematics Major: Computer Mathematics. I took almost equal math and CS courses (a few more math of course) and took everything from Calculus to Algebra to Stats...and I can say that you will USE them ALL! I know people will argue that "Unless you are working in field that uses that heavy Calculus stuff etc that you will never use the stuff you learn in those classes" I TOTALLY disagree with that (but I will admit I was thinking that when I'm learning about 4th and nth dimensions in 3rd year Calculus! hehe) but here is my reason for saying you will use them all; the problem solving skills you aquire from doing these subjects is a HUGE asset! Yes you won't use or even remember most of the equations etc but what you do remember is how to solve complicated problems using the skills you learned from each previous problem. If there was one class I would recommend for sure, it would be any class that teaches Algorithim Analysis and also Stats is a big helper too!
Just my 2 cents!
What will be interesting is to see who is the first person(s) to actually get sued. I mean think about it..the RIAA has to play its cards just right because if they pull grandmothers and little kids into court and sued then for the anywhere from $750 to $150,000 per song the backlash would probably be enough to hurt them even more then they are already hurting themselves.
...I like to think we are on headed in the right direction..

I have frequently visited Bo Brodie's company, Computer Recyclers Inc., an Ottawa company that deals in electronic junk. Brodie's firm takes in about half a million pounds of electronic junk a year. Not only will they take your old junk off your hands but they sell the stuff people get rid of that is still good. Win win if you ask me.
I am a Bell High Speed subscriber and it should be noted that the poster must have the DSL basic package which does have a bandwidth cap. If you have the high speed or high speed ultra, Bell just recently (July 3rd I believe) took away the bandwidth caps for the later packages I mentioned. I have the high speed package and have NO complains since I can't get cable internet in my area. It will be interesting to see if Bell will bring back the cap on bandwidth or not after this ruling...
Congress has failed to pass any of the 19 national antispam bills introduced since 1999, thanks in part to lobbying efforts of the business community.
Yes the fines may be somewhat of a deterant but when politics is involved I agree that a technical solution is still the brightest hope of reducing the spam problem.

It would be interesting to know just how bad their losses are (or could have been) given the embedded ads of Intel and McDonalds in the game.
