The PCI-SIG is required to defend their copyright. It seems to me that's all their doing. Other than the web site owner blowing his top (not that I wouldn't), there is no story here.
"The initial expansion will be funded with current company resources, but next year ActiveState might seek a round of financing in the first or second quarter, Pike said."
The investors that put big bucks into a company like that demand a healthy return on their investment. Otherwise, why take the risk?
If a company founder is happy with a small company, the answer is simple: don't borrow money.
I use a program called Total Recorder, available at http://www.highcriteria.com/ for $11.95 (US). It records the output of Real player, M$ Media Player, or even Winamp digitally, and allows you to save the file as wav or mp3 (using Lame or Blade mp3 libraries). Even includes a timer, so you can leave the audio player running all day, with set start and stop times. Best $12 I've ever spent on software.
Assuming it works, its a move in the right direction. But, the core itself is just a small part of the problem. There needs to be design verification, production test hooks, software debugging hooks, cache memory (the beast takes a 32-bit word from memory every clock, nominally), a standardized bus to interface to the rest of the world,...
The ballot was prepared by and approved by Democrats. No objections then. Gore's complaint is his own party's incompetence. Everyone looks at ballots to check for spelling, part affiliation, etc. Every election has spoiled ballots, they are always discarded, everywhere. And remember, this will set a precedent for every election to follow....
I wouldn't mind using my Dreamcast to access the web from my living room recliner, but I don't want to pay for a dial-up ISP in addition to my cable modem account.
Has anyone used their Linux box as a PPP server for a Dreamcast, along with some sort of phone system emulator to avoid requiring the use of 2 phone lines? What about one of the free ISPs?

My question is:
Will the United States take military action against China if China attacks Taiwan?
