You obviously missed the point of the MythBusters episode. On the particular episode of MythBusters in question, they had the participants of the study perform complex mathematical, logic, and assorted other "brain work-out" type excersizes. They weren't just talking about how the weather was, or what mood they were in.
The point I am trying to make here, it has nothing to do with whether or not you are using a hands free speakerphone, or a headset. Its whats going on in your brain. You aren't focussing on driving, you are focussing on the conversation. This is where things become dangerous. Driving a car requires constant vigilance to make sure you don't run into anything. Atleast when people drive drunk they attempt to pay attention to the road, which is more than can be said for the 1/2 dozen people that almost run into me each day, chatting on their stupid cellphones.
I think obviously there could be a good amount of speculation regarding this, however if you go with the "standard" logic then it would probably go something like this...
The computers were programmed to have AI. The computers then start evolving at what is considered an alarming rate. We freak out, and try to destroy our own creation. This starts an act of war, and in war, you must destroy your opponent to ever truely win. This would lead to the neverending battle. As for the statement of what would make them WANT to expand? One of our fundamental principles is exploration and expansion. Do you honestly think that we WOULDN'T program the AI to share in our philosophies? And as for making them look more human, they were build by man, and programmed by man, so they are most likely trying to "become the creator" to some exent.
Back in the early days of TV, the commercials were actually done INSIDE OF THE TV SHOW. The mom would be cooking Quaker Oatmeal, and talking about how nutritious and wholesome it was for you.. blah blah.. that was actually PAYED for as an actual commercial. I find this type of commercial less annoying, and more effective...
