Screeners come on both DVDs and VHS. Most studios have switched to DVDs since they are faster and cheaper to produce, but some are still sent out in VHS. (If you note in the first article in the story they talk about how the FBI found about 36 VHS screeners at the suspect's house, in addition to a number of DVD screeners.)
Some studios have started to switch back to VHS screeners since they aren't as easy to rip into a Divx encoded avi for quick posting on the internet. I believe slashdot or some other sites had an article about this a while ago since Disney only released VHS screeners of Finding Nemo to try and make it harder to be copied.
IDS and custom tools. If a user doesn't patch they WILL be infected with the rate these things spread. The IDS and other tools can then spot the worm/virus related signatures easily. And then it's just a matter of contacting the user and hitting them with a clue by four.
you idiot... i *said* that i feel it stinks. i said it was *my* opinion, i said "i personally have made the decision that suse sucks. that is my opinion, sorry for sharing it." and once again, sorry for sharing it. i like the way redhat runs better than i do suse. that's all the reason i need. how am i destroying my credibility by saying i don't like the aesthetics? that is a prefectly fine reason for saying i dislike suse. think before you speak.
i personally have made the decision that suse sucks. that is my opinion, sorry for sharing it. it was early in the day when i sent this out. woops, my bad. i have had several of my co-workers who are redhat users say the same thing i did: that suse sucks in their opinion.
take things people say with a grain of salt. all of you.
i'm just too lazy to begin to describe why i dislike suse. now i don't want to start a war more than i already have, so let's just say that i've grown up with redhat and that's the way i like it.
i got a copy of suse 6.1, and i felt that i wasted my money. sure it comes with cool stuff like word perfect and sax, but over all i disliked the way is ran. i don't like yast, and i just didn't like it over all. i gave it a fair trial and it failed.
insider trading is more like telling a friend that "our stock is going to crash since we didn't make our numbers" or something like that. giving stock to employees and "friends" is just giving stock options, it's perfectly legal. if it wasn't sec would have done something. "friends" are people who have written code that is on the redhat distro in some form.
the directors probably told the actors either before hand, or at one of the various drop sites. i heard in an interview that the directors had scripted something out for "heather" to say, but they said that she modified it a bit, and the pointing the camera on herself and saying it was all her idea.
well, this is half true. there were 2 directors behind the scenes, but they didn't do too much execpt for leaving clues on what to do nexy at various drop sites. i have also heard that they were in contact with the actors via walkie-talkies, but i can not confirm this.
true partiy ram, about $90 for 64mb or so, which is what i paid about a year ago when i got mine from onsale. you will want at least 64mb of ram to really do anything with this box, it needs it.
as for hard drives, you must use scsi or a 2.5 inch laptop ide drive. a regular 3.5 ide will not work since the ide connector on the multia is made for laptops, it has 44 pins, not 40. the 4 extra pins supply power. there is no regular ide type power supply thingy to plug a regular drive into as well. and you do need to update the firmware to get it to notice the ide drive.
and as other people have said, get a floppy drive, you will need it. they are pretty nice, cute little boxes.

Actually there are 3 different sections of the registration pages for users
1. for Windows 2000/XP boxes (Blaster, Nachi, Sobig.F)
2. for Windows 98/ME boxes (Sobig.F)
3. for Mac/Linux/other OSes (go ahead and register)

you still could have ignored me. it's called you go on to the next thread, article, web site, whatever.
even if i had gotten it from cheapbytes i still would have wasted my money.
sorry, my bad.
