If the source code is released I am going to hack a PERL Script to diff the MS Source Code and GPLed apps and make it freely available.
I'm going to encourage licensees to use it, so they can try and get their licensing fee back when it is revealed they had to pay for a GPLed product and everyone else...
I am sure that many overworked MS programmers, under pressure may have cribbed little bits of GPLed code to save time, safe in the knowledge that no one will ever know their secret.

IT Was rumoured on these very pages (I think) a year ago that MS had a Java Killer waiting in the wings.
Only Microsoft Seem to have forgotten that Java got where it is because it is Heterogenous.
It is the end of the line for MS. Maybe its time we all placed our predictions for various Free Software Futures.
i.e. Linux Dominant OS by...
MS Laughed at by PHBs...
MS Write Applications for Linux by...
etc.

The story of OSS, always new versions to fix deliberate windows incompatibilities.
New filesystems, new encrypted passwords, new efforts to block *nix dns servers, incompatible fonts, office 97 file formats.
Linux would be less a threat to MS if they acted like part of the community instead of trying to grind it into the mud methinks.
