We all got our return up front. They did more with it, by knowing how to use the system/infrastructure, and that's a good thing not just for them but also for the people they can employ. So, stop making it sound like any jackass could do it, because that's clearly not the case.

Reminds me of ~2000 when I worked a project that was overdue, and our PM came in and handed each engineering team lead a binder with cost information. She was expecting us to manage our teams financials. I spoke up, saying we all went to engineering school, and wouldn't it be less expensive to pay a business analyst to track all of us. The famous quote from our CEO was "Cash is king". We evolved from a fun engineering company to one that worried about quarterly results.

    Wikipedia entry...
A wind turbine is designed to produce power over a range of wind speeds. All wind turbines are designed for a maximum wind speed, called the survival speed, above which they will be damaged. The survival speed of commercial wind turbines is in the range of 40 m/s (144 km/h, 89 MPH) to 72 m/s (259 km/h, 161 MPH). The most common survival speed is 60 m/s (216 km/h, 134 MPH).

  11. Who has jurisdiction over a company with a presence in their country? Well, quite simply if it's a company in the U.S., then the U.S. can easily prosecute, as could any other country with a presence. It's NOT rocket science. The U.S. already does this with regards to U.S. based companies dealings outside of the U.S. Simple example, it's illegal for a U.S. based company to be involved in bribing foreign officials in other countries, even if it's not illegal within that country. As for Martian courts, that's a long way down the road.

I'm all for background checks, and some sensible gun control (even required training and licensing). But the argument about watch lists is that some bureaucrat can put anybody on a watch list, and they have no recourse, no trial, and would be stripped of their rights. I've had coworkers with middle eastern names put on no-fly lists, simply because their names matched those of people who actually should have been on them, but those coworkers held security clearances. The U.S. government has been incompetent in this and many so other areas. So, how much can I trust them to get this right?
