You didn't have to. You stated "...the illusion of control to an electorate that is bought and paid for by corporations?" If that were true then wouldn't they have had their way in the election as a natural consequence?
Never thought that I'd find myself in agreement with Archie Bunker...even sharing political views!?! True story...As a teen in the 70s I had a poster on my bedroom wall "Meatheads unite! Edith for President!"
There's no such thing as the popular vote simply because nobody campaigns to win the popular vote. If they did, they would have spent time and money differently than they did. Trump would have spent much more time in places like NY and CA for example. But in an election where the other side has those states locked up, why bother? Sorry, but the whole..."but she won the popular vote" thing is nothing but croc tears over a failed candidate & campaign.
You idiots throw the word treason around w/o any idea of what it means.
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. Come on buddy, it was at least $200k on FB and Google alone! Now, the Ds and Rs spent ~$4.4B in advertising, so those nasty Ruskies fucked up the election of Hillary with just 0.0454% of what those idiots spent. What evil geniuses they are!
So, of $4.400,000,000 ad money the Ds & Rs spent on advertising, apparently Russians purchased a bit more than $100,000 on FB and a bit less than that on Google...let's just say ~$200k total. Or,.0454% of the advertising budget that the campaigns spent. Well, that certainly explains why HRC lost.
Living in one of the best funded school districts in the nation (Fairfax Co., VA), I'll tell you that the schools still beg parents for supplies while he school system wastes millions on bullshit. Sorry, but no, there is such a thing as overfunding, and nobody is being a good shepherd of our tax dollars...property tax on my 4 bedroom is over $10k! There was nothing special about the education that my daughter received here that made it better than what I received in the public schools of Detroit. When you walk into an elementary school, that has four secretaries...sorry, admins, who shit at huge wooden desks (easily a couple thousand dollars a piece), I take issue with those who complain that the schools need more funding. When I had to shop for additional supplies that the teachers request of each student...no pressure unless you didn't care about your kids grades...I take issue.
So, he's suggesting that we'll all become some small part of the Borg? Yeah, that's progress. Thanks, I'll pass. And really, you want to hold up Bezos and all of his anticompetitive practices as an example of not being an ass? Sorry, I don't share the opinion.
The U.S. hasn't done shit to stop monopolies, or monopoly like behavior since AT&T was broken up, and the failed attempt at MS. Competition is why even the poor walk around with the latest iPhones and Galaxys. And I doubt you can give any examples of bunch of little guys teaming up. When "little guys" team up, it's more often them selling out for huge profits to some other corporation's Mergers and Acquisitions team so that they can keep Wall Street's quarterly (short sighted) numbers up. No, fewer competitors is bad for consumers...always. Where we frequently get wrapped around the axle is when companies have virtual monopolies (MS was one, Amazon, FB and Google are now). and nobody seems to give a shit.
When the other tribe has been your enemy for decades, you don't need more evidence to decide that it's more risky to buy products from them than your own tribe. It may or may not be fact based, but it's still prudent.

Or maybe, instead of picking sides, and listening to the talking heads, we could just for a moment stop and realize that "the other side" isn't all evil/crazy, and that they just see things through a different lens that we should try to understand instead of listening to our individual echo chambers.
Jackass. Get off my lawn!

Which corporations was it that got Trump elected? Because the majority of those I'm aware of were for HRC.
FB literally had employees who helped the Trump campaign. 60 minutes told us all about it just a couple days ago.

You know that Clinton cheated, right? Got copies of the questions for the primary...all that jazz.
That's a bit of a stretch - someone sent her A question for a primary debate and even with that, she didn't really give a great answer.
Really? Donna Brazile admitted that she did it. But don't let facts get in your way.

If only we could stop those ACs from posting.

Got any evidence to support that theory?

Yup, Russians spent 0.0454% (~$200k on FB & Google) of what Ds & Rs spent ($4.4B) on campaign ads. Clearly explains why Trump won.

Is that like military intelligence, or hot water heater?

Yes, cows.

Possibly, or he could have just been doing so out of laziness/convenience, a la Clinton.
You say that as if nothing replaced the KGB. Hell, Putin was KGB. Who do you think his cronies are?
Nice hand waving. When has NSA ever publically announced any of it's findings? Get a clue.

So, why then is the Senate and DoD ready to ban them? Surely, they don't have an axe to grind for Trump's election.
Though, why would you spend U.S. tax dollars on a foreign product if there's a suitable product made at home?
