Do these movies and TV episodes have subtitles or closed captions?
Foreign-language titles always display subtitles in English. English language titles do not have subtitle options. None of the movies and TV episodes that you can watch instantly offer closed captioning.
Which sucks for me and my wife - English is not our first language and CC for the hearing impaired helps us out a lot when one is starting to learn the language.
I would love to get on of these boxes but this is a deal breaker for me; I've been speaking English for 15 years, I don't need CC but my wife benefits greatly from it...
Well, a google search for "the independant" changes all the options to "independent" and http://theindependant.com/ looks like a news site but it's just a parked domain.
So yeah, it may be a typo.
You have to take into account less developed countries than the US.
I travel a lot to Mexico and it amazes me that *everyone* has a hotmail account there.
They advertise it on fliers, on business cards, etc....
Some people will have (own) a domain like http://www.muchostacos.com.mx/ and *still* print their muchostacos@hotmail.com email.
It kills me....
I think this is because of the proliferation of internet cafes back when having internet (or a computer) at home was prohibitive.
All those machines with their homepages set to msn.com and nothing but windows messenger as the IM client...
Dude, I know exactly what you mean... I *am* a geek; I know how to operate my digital camera, my house phone is VOIP, I have 2 Linksys routers talking to each other in WDS mode with one giving out DHCP addresses and doing QOS and all kinds of wonderful shit. I did this first with sveasoft and then switched to dd-wrt, because I *liked* it, because I was interested in it and because it was cool.
I wanted to set up a DVR and settled on SageTV, but looking at their forums, it was just too much work and too many acronyms; to the credit of the SageTV forum users, they *did* try to help me but in the end it was too much hassle. I guess I'm not an AV geek, I bought a tivo and I'm happy with it.
I felt the same way when I was researching HDTV. To me, it ain't worth it....yet.
Wow....
I'm running ie and I didn't see anything...
Click on the page; looks like something is loading but nothing happens; reload, nothing happens; close the page, nothing....and I tried it about 3 times.
I had to look at the source to actually see the picture at img177.exs.com.
Maybe it was being slashdotted, but nothing happened with ie.
I'm interested in this because i hate flash ads.
BTW, I use ie and I'm happy with it for the most part. The only thing that would make me switch is if they *really* get rid of popups; reading the comments, looks like they have a ways to go...
'Bookmarks Synchronizer' looks like a great idea but it's just not the same as yahoo bookmarks.
Sure, I have access to a couple of ftp servers but it just seems like too much work and looks like you have to manualy syncronize.
I'm not that much of a geek, I just want my bookmarks.
The thing about yahoo bookmarks is that you just click and "add bookmark" - that's it, unless you want to create sub folders and stuff.
If I go to another computer, I don't have to have the yahoo toolbar installed, I just go to http://bookmarks.yahoo.com, log on and my bookmarks are there, any OS, any browser...
Looks easier that logging on to myftp.myftp.com and checking out mybookmarks.xml
As far as real estate? I think the convinience of having 568 bookmarks wherever/whenever I want them is worth 6 millimiters of space (I measured it) - And bloat? Good Lord, man.... are you the kind of geek that recompiles gentoo every morning before breakfast?
What makes del.icio.us a social system is its ability to let you see the links that others have collected, as well as showing you who else has bookmarked a specific site. You can also view the links collected by others, and subscribe to the links of people whose lists you find interesting.
This system is pre-pre-alpha; many features have yet to be added. Additionally, many, many bugs remain. Please be careful.
Dude, I just want my bookmarks...
I created an account a couple of minutes ago and couldn't figure out how to make/place a bookmark on the first reading... Of course, I just got in and I'm working on my first cup of cofee.
They sure mean well, but it's not "Click the bookmark button on the toolbar", click "add bookmark"
I have both the google and the yahoo toolbars.
I use google for searches and yahoo for bookmarks, and the mail notification in yahoo toolbar is nice.
Where is that cool article-on-whatever-I-was-reading that I want to show a buddy or a user on their computer? That's right, I go to http://bookmarks.yahoo.com, log on and viola! there it is...
Here is the "Legal Info" from the main page on their site:

Not only that but I think Mr Pink Eyes is pimping his own site, which I don't think is cool.

Here's a link to the production company - http://www.sacredcow.com/
IMDB link - http://imdb.com/title/tt1033467/
Too bad I can't find in on Netflix yet.
It looks very interesting....
Let me tell you where that extra $150 goes:
- The ReadyNAs is a DHCP/Print server
- The Drobo has an external power supply
- And here's the deal killer: The ReadyNAS is an actual NAS,
meaning it has a 10/100/1000 Ethernet, the Drobo is just USB.
There's a couple of other minor things, but the Drobo is not a NAS, it attaches via USB.Well, a google search for "the independant" changes all the options to "independent" and http://theindependant.com/ looks like a news site but it's just a parked domain. So yeah, it may be a typo.
Yes, AssCork I wish I had mod points!

That was modded insightful? It's supposed to be El chistoso!!!

I actually thought about it for 3 seconds while I was reading the article... ...because it gives me goosebumps.
No, really.... Is it? ;)
...without pics.

Looks pretty cool - you'll probably have to pry Yahoo bookmarks from my cold dead fingers but I'll give del.icio.us an honest try.
Thanks.
