Yes you are right, I could order online but if I hassle my local and not so local DVD sellers maybe they will all order it and the people who look at ordering trends on their computers will say to themselves ' maybe there is something in this, we should order more and do proper marketing'. I know Joss dosn't mind a regional market demand explosion helping his bargaining power with series backers.

I dont know if it is that bad. But what do you expect from a backwater country that followed Bush to Iraq, twice, and has 2 government sponsered (read controlled) TV stations when there are only 4 other comertial stations in the best reception areas anyway. Our Foxtel has Sci Fi chanell but are too busy showing ST NG and DS9 to bother (at least they show Lexx, that Xev just does me)

In the CDV he sent me he gives plot synopsis, episode breakdown and generaly gushes about the first series, lamenting the lak of 2nd and 3rd that Firefly diserves. I have been Hastling my local DVD importers for series box ever since.
Do you remember the movie that had the actor from 'John Boy' as the young inpresionable backwater farm planet take the familys sentient spaceship out to find a group of heros to defend his comunity. It had 5 white clone aliens, an Amazon busty princess, the guy from UNCLE as a black spy type, and a caracter called 'Spacecowboy'. The whole western in space theme really worked for that film. Come to think of it Star Wars is a western space melding as well.
Its like the statement that gets around accasionaly that not that many jews died in the holocaust, You cant SAY it even if it is true. You cant say that Jesus wasn't the son of God and you cant say that Michael Jackson is a child molester. And by the way, you moderator was jewish.
Whedon just didnt have the inside info to offer them a blockbuster of a first show , then get a killer contract for 1 + 1 + 1 seasons signed and sealed. As a true artist he did what he wanted regardless of the selling power and I really respect him for that. I bet he learnt from that and the movie will be a big seller. (with better mandorin to boot)
Hey , how about a game that has a gravity changing dial? you could actually fly that bloody clipped wing plane in GTA3 if the gravity were set to -1. And think of setting it to -10 waiting till all the cars and people have floated away and put it back to 0 for mega people rain effects. I bags first go if you are a game designer. copywrite, me.

Ive trained Cats and dogs to look at where you are pointing by throwing food (Or placing it) and pointing to it. they are slow and it takes weeks but they eventually look at where you are pointing (thinking that there is food there). I'm not sure that they would look at the moon and think 'food?' or if they could eventually learn to look at things to make master happy and happy master gives food. I'm sure that they would not apreciate what the moon means for many milenia depending on how we choose to manipulate there genes in the future.
