If America is ignoring the 67 treaty, whats stopping them from ignoring other aspects of previously agreed space treaties? I'm thinking along the lines of owning land on the moon, Owning and charging rights for usage of lagrange points or orbital paths. Slowly owning ...uh sorry... 'organizing' space for the good of humanity. And you thought that mission to X ray the moon was a waste. Own all space around a planet and you own any means of getting off it - Naboo case in point.

Unless we dig up stargates pretty soon we better start saving up for lease options or fighting for our own peice of virtical teritory.

  2. Is't the moon hollow? on Ion Rocket to Map Moon with X-Rays · · Score: 0

I heard somewhere (don't hit me) that the moon could be hollow. The ejecta formation hypothesis sujests that the lighter surface material of both early planets goes mostly into the smaller of the 2 resulting planets. The fact that the moon (mostly) orbits the Earth shows (doesn't it?) that the moon is a lot lighter (or is that less dense?) Either way a chemical reaction inside a large lump of mostly silica could make a large hollow bubble that would cool quicker as the surface area grew. How much power does the X ray on board have? Is it only supposed to measure surface material or can it see further into the crust (1 meter?, 20 meters?) of the moon?

Anyway, If noone else thought of it, I did first and copy-righted it. You all owe me when the news comes in. Moon - Hollow!

I could understand if the boy was made blind, or was blind in one eye, that he would be able to see after a transplant, but for boy to be able to see (with the transplant) having not seen befor? I just don't see it. His optic nerves and brain having not had the input would not be used to the signals he was recieving and would take alot longer to get used to them if they were recieved by the brain at all.
It could be a case of 'Blind' as in 'technically blind' such as light reception through the optic nerve but completely fuzzy due to interference? How about "There is a ball on the desk in front of you. Reach out and grab it if you can" ball being black on white table he could see it. Hey, wasn't there a TV show in the late 70's, that had the guy from the A team, and they kept refueling [who knows how] an old saturn V and blasting into space for almost no reason. Simulated quote " Quick, a billion dollar American spaceshuttle is near explosion. Lets use our second hand ship worth bugger all to go and rescue them and finish their mission for them for no praise or money" sounds like real life.

They could do it again but this time they could say " Quick, a hopelessly old neuclear satelite from the early days of the information era, is coming in to crash into earth and ruin all our good Sugarcain crops (for making ethanol) or our high efficiency solar cells. Lets use our cheap but well made MacX [copyrite] high thrust 2 person anti grav? space vehicle to nip up there and bring it down gently so that future generations can all see the folly of those goddess forsaken early years of our foremothers. All we expect is a small amout of gratitude for saving that which makes us all happy, the earth" The clone of Simon J Cannel could produce it.
